Looking for tune!!! Sliders, grabber X3, bilstein lift on its way
I was just up in Woodstock Thursday to play golf then headed over to killington for a golf tourney my buddy runs, this was the 13th year he has been doing it. Weather was a bit on the hot side Thursday and Friday but Saturday and Sunday was wonderful weather. Man VT is a beautiful state to see.

If you drive through Woodstock DO THE SPEED LIMIT!!!! They will pull you over for 3mph over the limit.

I did 3% for a 15 year biweekly, so I have about 12-1/2 years left. I jumped because I was afraid rates would go back up quickly, but had I waited I could have done better. Last I checked, the same bank was at 2.375. I don't pay extra either.

Truck is 0%, I do pay extra on that. I made a spreadsheet of anticipated value versus payment and figured I'd end up underwater on it for a while if I didn't pay extra. Then values skyrocketed so I would have been more than fine.

Potentially a group of 4-5 with rtt's and ground tents.

Yeah M_ B_LL, OFR, and VT class 4's were the plan. Already got a solid spot in VT, but was hoping to stay local to Northampton and hit the two MA trails in a day before going to VT.

Isn't OFR closed now too, or was that just MA Bell?

Can you send me your spot in VT? I'm up that way a fair amount, I have spots all over the state, curious if yours overlaps! We have a few that are good, and a few that are "legal", unlikely to be a problem but still might be technically private property :spy:

Ah my spot in VT is actually my friends private property, sorry man. Bummer about OFR being gated, I had plans to get out there last year too. Becoming a dad threw a wrench in those plans though.

I've been tempted by a power wagon multiple times but once you look at their payload capacity you say, "isn't this a HD 2500, wtf"

It's a problem with a lot of 3/4 ton trucks. The 3/4 ton trucks, for a while, were capping their GVWR at 10k because, I believe, for a lot of states that skirts around a commercial / insurance requirement. High trim package trucks, trucks with diesel engines or otherwise come with a lot of heavy crap from the factory (in the Power Wagon's case, the winch and big, heavy tires), it all just eats into the available payload. From a practicality standpoint, it almost doesn't even make sense to buy a 3/4 ton truck when the 1 ton truck is only $500 more and has ample capacity. I believe some manufacturers are raising the GVWR for their 3/4 ton trucks now and you can get a package that gives you a lower door sticker if you live in one of the silly states who charge you a lot of money for a higher GVWR. All smoke and mirrors (and dare I say lawyers).

I wasn't in any rush to pay mine off at 0.9 percent. Wife's we do pay more on, higher rate but I forget the #.

Mortgage though, I'm pretty aggressive on paying that off. Full disclosure though, we're older so it's a little different.

The off road suspension removes a lot of payload from the power wagon

Ha, that also, I forgot how much they neutered that truck! 1,500 lbs and 10k lbs towing, ridiculous for a 3/4 ton.

What? That is stupid. My Lariat does better than that. 1920 payload and 11,500 lbs towing.

Yup - it can probably tow/haul a shit load more, that's what people don't realize about some of these modern numbers. They're not only capable of that, but that's all they're going to rate it to for a hose of many reasons.

Yeah - anything less than about 4%, no rush to pay it off. We're 28, so no rush on the mortgage either. But even still - if I had extra, I'd invest it now and then in 10 years pull the "extra" out of that investment to pay the mortgage instead. 2.625% is nooooothing.

I think some states require to insure the vehicle differently if you go over 10k GVWR also and it gets really expensive. I remember fooling around on Ford's website and you can build the same F250 with 10k GVWR or 9,900 GVWR as an option. In MA, I don't even have commercial plates on mine where as some states make you put them on half ton trucks. The manufacturers are playing a numbers game and I think a lot of consumers who don't do their homework are going to get bit when they try to register and insure it. That big number looks great on paper but may come with a lot of heartache when it hits that you're now subject to commercial vehicle inspections!

Crazy, isn't it? Your Lariat has a surprisingly high payload, that's pretty awesome. I would have guessed somewhere in the 1,600 lb range. My 250 is only around the 2,500 mark. The gas 250's I had were up around 3,400, all that payload lost because of the heavy engine option.

especially right now, your rate is really closer to -2.5% Anyone giving out loans under 5% right now is losing money. If you need a fixed long term loan, now is the time to get it imo.

I think mass requires commercial plates if it's a dually

Even when we first moved here in 2004 we tried to pay an extra 50-100 a month, just to reduce the length of it. We were also dishing out to make repairs etc big time. Since getting over the initial hurdles and what not we pay 300-400 a month more. I want to say 7 more years to go at that rate.

Top of my skull I remember trucks almost always (if not always) needing commercial plates back in the day, I think even a midsize like an S-10
