    Hello Taco drivers!

While out and about today at Walmart. I found my headlights crazing. Any suggestions to battle this?

Unrelated topic. This is new, but my local Walmart has genuine toyota/lexus filters.

    Thank you!

It seems my clear / UV coating is starting to peel on mine as well. Once it gets bad enough I'll sand and reclear w the 3m headlight restorer stuff. I've had good luck in the past with that stuff on multiple vehicles.

Im not sure if it will help your issue, but I had a detailer tell me to wax headlights along with rest of the truck.

Did walmart have oem toyota oil and air filters? I rather buy them from walmart than my local stealerships.

This is extremely common, and really only one way to fix it. Have a body shop sand and re clear the lenses. You want to make sure they are familiar with the process. I have a painter that has done a ton of these for me and they come out really nice.

Would be awesome if they carried air filter too, but who knows? Maybe soon?

I had headlights hazing on my last Subaru. Waxing them actually made them look new until the wax wore out again.

I hope you are not taking his advice and are not using this "detailer" anymore. Headlights are constantly being "sandblasted" while you are driving the truck, applying wax that will just embed itself into this porous sandblasted surface is not going to help a thing.

Idk I've heard its good to apply wax to headlights. Its uv coating prevents sun damage.

    Maybe I'm wrong.

The tops of my headlights were peeling and I did get them warranty out- 1 month shy of 3 yrs. I plan to just coat with a ceramic hybrid type coating regularly so combat the fl sun as much as possible I guess

You’re not wrong, you’re 100% correct. Waxing headlights also keeps debris from sticking to the surface of the lense.

Y’all should REALLY be doing ppf like xpel on your headlights when they are brand new. Only way to keep them really protected and perfect.

    yea 100% wrong here buddy.
I have been putting wax, sealant, and ceramic coatings on my headlights for the past 20years and never had an issue with a headlight on any car I owned. None of them ever showed any signs of hazing up and always stayed crystal clear. saying wax is going to get embedded into the headlight and make things worse shows you should just not post stupid information. Because then your stupid information would apply to not waxing your front bumpers because your accounts would be impacted the same way. Protecting your headlights with a wax/sealant or ceramic coating is going to keep them in good shape longer with the products offering some UV protection.
