9” is a very wide whee for a 255 tire. Look at the specs for the tires you are interested in. They will probably suggest a 7-8” rim. I’m sure you could stretch them to fit but performance won’t be ideal and they’ll probably look a little goofy.

So think I am going with dynapro AT2 255/75 r17.
Rims I am looking at are 8" with 0 offset and 4.5 backspacing.
My question is with the dealer installed lift 2 in front 1 in back on my 2021 trd sport. Will this size work with no trimming and will it look proportionate

That should not be a problem
they’re 0.9” smaller in height and 0.5” skinnier than mine with no rubbing at all

So went with motonetal 970 17x8 0 offset with 255/75 Dynapro AT2. These should be a good set up for traction and mileage.

Wondering if Toyota has the capability of adjusting the computer for tire size?

    Pics!!

You should check if you even need to first. When I went from stock to 265/70/17 my Speedo actually became more accurate as assessed by a GPS speedo on my phone.

having said that, I think the only way to adjust the computer is with the hyper tech (i think that’s what it’s called) module.

Same for me on the speedo. Going up one size put my speedometer dead on with GPS.

Just bought some wheels. Wish Kenda made the Klever in a 33x10.5 r16 :( - Gonna have to go the 255/85r16 route.

Took my truck out for its first big wheel since putting the kendas on. Aired down to 20psi on a 17x8 wheel and they did phenomenal. I barely lost traction in some of the slipperiest of spots. Had to recover the 4runner while in a 1' deep mud puddle on quite the angle while in reverse and they gripped the mud like claws. Confidence in these tires shot through the roof.

I inflated to 40 PSI for the drive home, I think the tire shop went somewhere between 35 and 40 PSI when I had them mounted. but 40 was pretty decent pressure for me for the 2 hour drive home. I know if you go much higher than 40 they are rough. I am surprised how quiet they are on the road but also being new only time will tell to see how loud they get like all tires do.

Just picked up my set will be 2-3 weeks till the taco gets here.

Slightly shorter than the 285/70-17 Bfg ko2 on the fj and noticably thinner.

It there any possible way of making modifications to fit one of these underneath in the stock spare tire location?
