will 2001 tailights fit a 2000?

Im looking to put 2001 tailights on my 2000 because of the newer look. will they fit?

they fit, but dont work.

tried putting my 01 on my 99, with no success. 01 has an extra wire i think

 

Thats wierd? The 01-04 have two ground wires and the 95.5-00 have one ground wire. So the newer to older WILL work, but the older to newer WONT work. Maybe something was hooked up wrong or something? Im not saying you didnt do it right, just saying it has worked before with other members.

 

ohh ya, thats right. i wanted the 99 on my 01, and they didnt work. i prefer the older ones over the new ones.....

 

I think I'm going to try putting the 01 lens on the 2000 taillight. Has anyone had any luck with this?

 

Im not sure if anyone has done this. But Im sure it should work just fine.
