The other day someone mentioned Good morning America how are ya...
I thought of that yesterday afternoon or evening when I heard this horn blow...there's a road the railroad tracks cross down and around the corner from my house. I'm glad it's just used for coal, so busy in Spring and Fall mostly. They build a mountain of coal at the power plant then burn it down.20210816_191121.jpg

Our front porch babies are just about ready to leave the nest for the first time. Maybe tonight or tomorrow? No clue about the ones on the back porch because the nest is so deep we only see them on occasion.

I'll try to take a better picture outside once it warms up a bit.

Just a FYI, I know the wild life is cool and all...but, so my grandparents had this covering over the back patio and Starlings got to nesting up in there. Grandparents and a Uncle got these strange rash, turned out to be some kind of mite and most likely from those birds. Another thing is before long you'll have those nest all over under there....
Hate to be a bummer, but just saying:pout:

No worries, I'm aware of potential mite issues. Starlings are assholes and we don't allow them to nest on the house, at least not intentionally. I believe we've finally patched every hole they had been using since we moved in :fingerscrossed:. Only the swallows and bats get a pass and I've actually got cardboard laid down underneath them for their pile of germ filled poo that'll get disposed of once they're all gone.
