Caution.....when drilling to install a extended bed. Make sure to retrieve all the drill shaving outside and in the body. Those shavings will start rusting and the rust cancer will spread. Spray inside frame body with fluid film after install and clean up.

No. It's a "genuine Toyota accessory" sold at the dealer parts counter. The Toyota install sheet says to use 3M seam sealant around the drilled holes for corrosion protection: http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/PT392-35120inst.pdf

The part you're drilling into is the tailgate sill surround, made of steel.

Anyway the body's existing double-galvanized corrosion protection is quite good. Rust really isn't a concern as long as you have some token touch-up paint on the holes. All the rusted-out 1st gens with broken frames typically still have pristine body panels.

You could always try to just super glue the mounting brackets. Definitely won't be as good though.

I mean, I put a bed extender on my bed stiffeners, so I didn't need to drill holes for the extender, but needed holes for the stiffeners.

Ford, Chevy and even the Tundra. See second photo for how the Tundra no drill brackets mount.
