I’ve noticed coolant on the outside of the overflow tank when I get home and wondering if it’s a Normal characteristic. It’s never low though

Check the hose on the tank.
    It’s been know to leak.

For good measure, check the level in the radiator too. Just to be sure.

Check your radiator cap as well, it may be going bad and not holding pressure.

Might try a new pressure cap just for good measure.

Mine spits a little coolant out of the reservoir too, but it never really needs topping off.

If it never overheats and never needs topping off I wouldn't worry too much about it

If the cap is good and no issues with head gasket it will self adjust from an overfill. If you fill it to the hot line when cold, excess coolant will come out of the overflow when hot. Check the coolant level in the radiator when cold. It should be right at the rim. A good cap will allow it to suck in coolant as it cools and capture it when expanding as the temp rises.

    Good deal.

I too would have went with OEM cap. Not the biggest fan of Stant. Or other after market cooling suppliers.
