Redid my roof rack wind deflector. Looks a little more professional now. Aluminum instead of plastic. I think all the humidity we've been getting messed with the painting. Couldn't get any consistency and this was after 4 coats I think?

If you go to this Web site (trail tacoma) and click on the link in the right in Rock sliders they have a nice primer (I know it helped me) as well as reviews and pricing for each one. May not be comprehensive but I sure found it useful.

Can you please post some more details? I was looking at using marine HDPE to make a wind deflector just behind my sunroof for my Milwaukee packout boxes. What problems did you encounter with the plastic?

Finally got a chance to install the TRD Pro Grille and raptor lights today. Definitely loving the look over stock grille.

My Rev 1 had no problems since it was so thin. Just heated the plastic, bent, and added supports. The full size, when done in plastic and bolted down, before exposure to heat, it looked fine. After being installed and out in 90+ degrees, it bowed in between the bolts. Even with being bolted down in all the same spots, it bowed. I should have take pics but didn't. It worked fine, I just didn't like how it looked, so I switched it to aluminum. Same thickness as the Prinsu deflector too and now perfectly flat.

Love it! Where did you get the grill from? Was it easy to install?

I got those new puddle pods that were on eBay. They were a great find, $110 too. I already promised them to my neighbor.

Cali raised isn’t on there? That’s shocking. Must be they were number 15?

Not sure. I should probably check the date of the article. When I get to sliders, I will make a more comprehensive list of all of the options. For example, I have been keeping a running list of tailgate covers and roof racks. Don't have everything, of course, but a pretty wide sample. I may need to create the same for sliders. And, yes, Cali raised would be on there! :)

For example, here is the tailgate list so far:

Adventure Ready Tailgate Cutting Board: $275

AL Off Road / Trailgate: $209:

    Gar Fab: $189 (Canadian):

    Hooke Road: $139:

    Mobtown: $175

    Mountain Hatch: $249

    PakRax: $149

    Relentless Fabrication: $189

    Snail Armor: $200

    Great list.

I should have waited a bit longer to research as you have compiled a very good list for the tailgate plate. I went with snailarmor in the end.

You made a good choice. I haven't decided yet mostly because I am busy and mostly because I have other things I am doing with ... and to .. the truck. The Snail Armor product looks to be pretty good and comes in less than the sort of leader / benchmark Mountain Hatch. I only have two reservations on the Snail Armor: 1) It doesn't have the cup holders, although that is not a deal breaker because I am not sure that I actually need them and 2) The logo is a bit big for my tastes (just my opinon).

Have to say I am leaning toward the GarFab one, however.

Got a tire replaced that picked up a nail last week. Gotta love those discount tire certificates. Also got an alignment done as well.

Detailed the outside of the wheels with Meguiars ceramic detail spray and Chemical Guys tire shine. The Meguiars spray is easy to apply and remove and leaves a nice slick surface so hopefully next time they’re easier to clean and dust won’t stick as easily. The tire shine has been my favorite so far and I’ve tried a ton of them for all my vehicles. This one does not sling off and stays on even during rain but easily comes off with soap and water or your drive through car wash. First wheel pic is before the detail spray and second pic is afterwards. Hard to tell in the pics but it is a much deeper rich clean and shine to the wheels
