I'm hoping to purchase a Tacoma soon and am just sitting on a few final details. One of these is how much I can alter/mod the interior.

SOOOO, I'm hoping the TW will be generous enough to snap a few pictures of their Tacoma's from the side with all the doors open.

I'm by no means trying to imitate or copy your ideas, just hoping to find out if this will sway me from a Access Cab to the Double or if this will help cement my decision.

    Cheers from Southern California.

I'm aware that the double offers more room, but I won't need to carry more than one person other than maybe 4-5 times a month, typically that is.

However, if I can remove the rear seat/s, that would offer a lot more versatility.
Is that even possible, removable rear seats?

I have an access cab sorry no pics i havent seen my truck in about 2 months :( and ill tell you why i went with it. I have no need to move anyone around other than me and maybe a girl. so double cab isnt needed. plus with the double cab you have the shorter bed which i think looks weird IMO. the access cab has the full 6' bed. you can get a dbl cab long bed but they are few and far between and some aftermarket accessories like rocksliders are very hard to find for it. I am impressed with the space in my double cab they have suicide doors that open opposite of the doors and give you plenty of access to the rear section which is very generous in space plus you can lean your seat back! unlike a reg cab! Plus im sure an access cab is slightly lighter than a dbl cab. if you going for a quick/fun truck. plenty of room in the back for a sub/air tank/ whatever. honestly in a nut shell if you have no need for the capability of driving 5 people around everywhere in a truck the access cab is your best bet!

At first glance I read this to say, "Just get the double, moron". While laughing and thinking damn, what a DICK!, I reread it then settled down and grabbed my coffee.

If you think you will ever need to room a double cab offers, get it now or you will regret it later. Trust me. I have made that mistake before.

I own, and love my Access Cab, it is just the right size for me to keep the extra stuff I carry (dog, hunting equip, ...) behind the seat. But, I'll be the first to tell you, no real sized person will fit comfortably in the Access area even once a month let alone 4-5 times a month. Unless you are talking pre-teens and they are small at that, you and your passengers will thank you for making the DC decision.

That is very true there is no way in hell a small child would be comfortable in those rear seats! but if he was just talking about having someone in his passenger seat then I am still leaning access cab.

OP(original poster) what do you plan on doing with this truck? off roading? daily driver? supercharging?

I have an access cab. Do not plan on anyone sitting in the rear seating area. However the Access cab is really nice to carry items that you do not want in the bed of the truck.

What do I plan to do? I plan on using it as a weekender and I plan on becoming a Marine Engineer. If that happens :D, if that happens, my needs might require a full bed, or maybe I can get away with the tailgate down, but right now?

Off-Roading? WILL happen, but minimal. Getting accustom to my city/area
Super-Charging? Maybe in the FAR future, but if you had to push me, I'd say no.
Planning on putting around 11,000-15,000 miles on it in 12 months time, if that's a better barometer for you.

Thanks for everyone's input, it is appreciated.

Is there a way that I can change the title of the thread to "SHOW OFF your interior?"

well its up to you but i think your best bet is the access for the bed space. if you might think you will need the extra seets down the road i wouldnt even think about the access cab. If you dont plan on doing any mods like trail armor then the DC LB would be up your alley

I've driven to So Cal from the SF Bay Area, loaded with 5 adult passengers and their luggage. It's about an 8-hour drive and haven't heard any complaints yet.

DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT! GET THE DOUBLE CAB OR ELSE YOU'LL SAY TO YOURSELF "MAN WHY I DIDN'T GET THE DOUBLE CAB" DOWN THE ROAD!

I love my access cab because of the longer bed, but shorter over all length for maneuvering.
When you go to the Double Cab long bed, you lose some maneuverability.
Parking the access cab is a breeze. Its little more involved with the Double long bed and not so easy to fit in some parking spots.
Thats what helped me make my decision.
If I did it again, I would maybe choose the long bed double cab, just because you get have so much bigger cabin more speakers, real seats. etc
I have had adults ride in my jumper seats in the access cab, and though not roomy by any means, its not too bad.
Wouldnt want to take one or more adults on a road trip though, and I dont think they would want to either. But for my girlfriend and i, the Access Cab is just right!
