I pulled mine off every other spring to clean and repaint and didn’t matter what paint and primer I used it just started to rust again. Got tired of it and put the aluminum one on last year and glad I did!

I added another 23 lbs to the rear with a double rifle pelican case . All in an effort to reduce my already shitty gas mileage by another 1/4 mile per gallon. But damn it looks cool! I will actually use it though. It can hold the tent during fall camping (for me and the wife) and rifles during hunting season at our south Georgia Hunting Camp!

I use 'em for 2 different purposes but if I had to choose 1 it would be a full size (camp) axe. Truck camping makes me care little about weight (especially that little of weight). It can do everything a hatchet can, and more. That being said I usually bring both for camping.

Touché. I usually split mesquite (grilling wood) before we leave the house making a full size axe just extra that I don’t need. So I use the hatchet for the just in case scenario. For firewood I just load up logs of mine oak. No use in splitting that stuff

Finally installed the clazzio seats on my 8 yo truck. Looks like a new truck! Except there’s no way the center console cover will remain, just can’t get it to fit right

Looks good. The more I see these the more I like them. Did you get leather? I just got my samples in the mail the other day. I wanted them to send a suede sample but all they sent were leather. That sucks about the center console. Those are hard to wrap leather around. You could probably take it to an upholstery shop and they could make it work.

Yeah, it's too much of a chore to deal with. Kind of excited for the aluminum one and just having something different on there. Glad to hear yours is working out.

They are leather. Look and feel great. I would imagine suede would be tough to keep clean IMO.

I thought about the upholstery shop, problem is the extra layer and crappy screws don’t allow the latch to work properly. May pick some screws up with coarser pitch

No pics but been a busy couple days for the ol tacoma. Yesterday I replaced the factory exhaust manifold on my 2.7 liter, with the one from Lc Engineering. It was a bit of a bastard getting the old one off. took a few hours. But I'm super glad I swapped. Throttle response is noticeably better. power comes on around 2200 RPM and goes pretty good to about 4000. haven't gotten a good road trip out of it yet. But I'll be heading back to work in a few days and can update then. But I'm confident it will do a lot better on the hills I encounter between North Idaho and Nevada. Also replaced my spark plugs and changed fluid in diffs and transmission and transfer case. I also had a muffler shop throw on a Flowmaster 40 on too. Now that the header is done she has a nice sound to her. "If you can't make it fast, make it loud!!!!!!!!"

Today I removed the old torn up nasty ass carpet and replaced it with a kit from Stock Interiors. Decent kit just wish they would make a kit that's has all the cuts made and holes for the seats. I'd pay double the price. Theres a couple spots that are messed up due to my own ignorance. But it looks a million times better and should smell a hell of a lot better when its all said and done. The truck is really starting to come together and I'm excited to see if the header helps mpg's or not.

Changed the cabin air filter. It wasn't too bad but changed it anyway.

Well....believe it or not I had about 45 min to tinker today during lunch.

Simple, easy and worth while project considering I did it with my 17 month old in one hand!!!!

Took my snorkel head off and added some screen mesh to keep bees, bugs and other debris out.20210818_114732.jpg 20210818_113249.jpg 20210818_113718.jpg 20210818_114649.jpg 20210818_114705.jpg 20210818_125111.jpg 20210818_130013.jpg

I have Mecotechs on my truck. Lowers haven't given me any issues (only about 7k on then though). On the uppers I had a boot tear and a UBJ cap leak. Just an FYI.

Same. I carry a cold steel trail boss (going to swap to an FSS soon) in the cab on the molle panel. I've used it exactly once to clear a tree that had fallen over a road that I couldn't just grab and move. It would have been a hell of a day trying to do that with a hatchet. But I do like a hatchet for camp chores.

Took my truck to Redbird state rec area with some work buddies. 4runner was stock other than tires, Jeep was bone stock on street tires (about 2 months old). Got to recover the 4runner from a mud hole and I popped off the passenger mirror cover hitting a tree while recovering him. Trail limo gonna trail limo. squeezing this long boi between trees, trying to turn around on tracks, or backing up in tight spots was a bit of a trick but the truck performed great. Makes me want a winch and high profile rear bumper..... or a shorter wheel base toy that I can beat up and leave the Tacoma nicer.

Recovering the 4runner from these mud holes. He got sucked in and then high centered teetering half in and half out of the hole behind him. track was too tight to turn my truck around so I had to pull him backwards which wasn't ideal but worked

Mud... now you gonna have to clean it up. I love rocks and dirt but don't like the mud-lazy I guess. Looks like you had fun though!

Best mod I did when I had my stock radio

I run the moog's on my stock rebuild LCA's. I just pressed in some new moogs into them over the last month. They have an angled zerks fitting that if I turn the wheel a certain angle I can hook into them with my grease gun. I have the new "internal boot" moog design. Pressing the ball joint out is a pain but I cheated and machined slots on either side of the old ball joint with a milling machine so I had a platform to prop the arm up to press against.
