    So I installed my supercharger a couple weeks ago. I want to give a quick review. Here a little background to start with. I'm driving a Tacoma OR, 35" tires, 5.29, tent, front & rear bumpers.

    I preordered the supercharger the first day it was available to preorder. Between me preordereing and receiving the supercharger. I regeared to 5.29 and tune with ov 2.0. I was very happy with the way it drove after that. Then I got the supercharger and Magnuson dropped news that it wasn't ready for "heavy modified vehicles" ie 35" and 5.29. That kinda ticked me off, because they didn't mention that when I pre-ordered it. So I posted it for sale for a while did end up selling. So I installed it months later.

    The install went very smoothly. Great quality of all the parts and well written directions 9/10. The flash took multiple times to finally take.. but I got it with some help.

    So far the driveability is very good around town 9/10! Driving up in the mountains with ect on is pretty good 8/10 could hold gears a little longer. Cruise control sucks 2/10 Hunts gears and loves to sit at 5k rpm on a small hill. The sound... You basically can't even tell it's supercharged :/ untill you are full throttle and even then its pretty quiet. Not the supercharger wine I was expecting, but not exactly a bad thing... Maybe I need to look into a new intake and exhaust. Gas mileage has been pretty much the same 12mpg uncorrected.

    Overall I'm happy I didn't sell it. It gave me the extra power I wanted. Definitely could use a little more help on the tuning side. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.. So It's no race car, but Im no longer looking for a different truck with more power.

    How much time did you have into the installation?

    I didn't keep track very well, and I did it over 3 days. Slightly hung over most of the time lol I'd say around 9-10 hours, that includes removing my after market bumper and relocating the water pump due to do the winch being in the way. I'm a mechanic(not Toyota tho) for a living also if that means anything. The directions are very very good and detailed, anyone with some mechanical skills should be able to do it.

    Kinda low, 4,000 ft. I only have 600 miles or so on it right now, and that was my first camping trip with it. I live in the Seattle area so at sea level basically. Once I get more miles I'll try to do another update. I do lots of snowboarding in the winter so I should have some more altitude in my future.

    Cheaper then trading it in for a new truck with more power. And its nice having something unique. I think it's worth it and hopefully it only gets better with proper tuning in the future. I do understand it's a lot of money.. to each their own.

    For 7k it’s prob about even depending on trim level and truck. F150 ecoboost can be had for 40k new. But I’m sure it makes a big diff esp with all your mods

    Also an F150 is F150-sized so that could be a big positive or a big negative, pun intended.

    How do you think it would’ve been on 4.88s? I’ll be on 35s, steel bumpers (but no tent) so relatively similar set-up. Originally I thought 4.88s would’ve been great for long highway drives. I’m really not sure if I should do 4.88s or 5.29s.

    35 w/ 5.29
    65gps=2k
    70gps=2.2k
    So not bad in my opinion.

    Well it's either 2200 rpms in sixth with 5.29s or 2700 rpms in 5th with 4.88s because you still won't be able to use sixth.

    These trucks do way better with some rpms. Running 2500 rpm is better in my MT than the 1800 my auto tried to run. Drives better and getting better fuel economy.

    I've often wondered if I hurt my gas mileage in my manual by using 5th & 6th too much and not keeping the RPMs a little higher.

    4.88's - 6th on highway (not towing using D mode) is no problem. If in mountains I always use S mode (always S mode when towing) and then 6th is a no-no.
