I looked into the Onyx Vesper hubs in curiosity, I like the silence and no drag design.
However, they're not very popular and I kept seeing people having issues, well of course people talk more about issues than with praise so I took that with a grain of salt.

How do you like them, are they fairly instant?

Any of you install a ride wrap kit? Looks like I would be into it for about $65 to protect the frame - not sure if there are better options out there.

    Yeah.
I did the invisiFRAME kit from a UK outfit. It was around $100. It was a nice kit and you can't even tell it is there. I actually forgot I did it.

Yes. I’ve used RideWrap and invisiframe, both in full frame tailored options.

They feel similar in hand, present the same level of ease/difficulty to install, and provide the same amount of protection.

I’d give a slight edge to invisiframe in terms of material strength. Their stuff just felt a smidge thicker in hand than the RideWrap material. Real world use I’ve seen zero differences.

I think RideWrap does a better job with pictorial instructions for application.

Next bike is for sure getting wrapped. So much frame scuffing on the firebird.

I like my ride wrap, I did it myself and it has held up. It is on my carbon gravel bike which sees less wear than a mountain bike would.

Yea...I didn't wrap my Rallon either and I regret it. The frame is really beat up now (rubber scuffs from my shoes, paint chips, etc.). It's probably extra vulnerable because it's a matte finish, but still. If I wanted to sell it and upgrade, I'd take a major price hit due to wear and tear.

It comes to a point that you have enough exposed carbon you strip the bike down and sand all the paint down and show off that carbon. Of course throw a clear coat on there lol.

    not enough.
ALWAYS use protection...on your bikes. I've ridewrapped every bike I've owned except one. and I regretted not doing it. I eventually starting covering up common problem areas with protection on that bike.

I've also begun adding extra protection on areas I know are common problem areas. IE, down tube, chain stays (becuase my feet like to rub through everything) and even added some on the seat stay. Also on the back of the seat tube. Common problem area because of rocks and dirt and stuff.

My bike had a DYED kit installed by the PO, glad it did.

What kind of wrap did you use? When my replacement gravel frame comes in I’d like wrap it.

I'm upset I never wrapped my bike when I got it - after enough transporting on the tailgate pad, there is now a wear spot where all the matte finish has worn away and it is VERY obvious. Looking at getting a black wrap to make it obvious there is protection on the downtube, but cover the wear spot up and pretend everything is all hunky dory.

Ride Wrap is the brand: https://www.ridewrap.ca/products/covered-road-frame-protection-kit/

That is the generic gravel kit. They might have one specific for your bike. I didn't really think it was a big enough issue to find a specific kit for my bike. It covers all the high wear areas.

Finally broke down and ordered Rocky Mounts Hotrods for an in bed mounted system. Sick of loading my GF's ebike over the tailgate pad.

I was in the same boat couldn’t find really any info reviews/info on them. So I just kind of went for it. They roll smooth and really don’t have any drag free coasting. I really like them. I really like the silence. (one of big reasons I was interested in them to begin with.) They do have a little bit of ‘slop’ when you put pressure down which I know some complain about but it really is minimal and I don’t even notice it anymore.

I’ve ridden some demo bikes with some I9’s, some friends bikes with things like e13, stans, and DT. The engagement is basically the same as any of the high engagement stuff. It’s just the little bit of different feeling when it engages. There’s no other hub to really compare that feeling to.

Also @whitedlite just some other info, I’m not a huge rider at 165. (I know some issues with them were reported by dudes over 200) I usually climb all the hills I ride down and typically I’m riding the super tight rocky, rooted technical single track east coast stuff but do go to the bike parks once in a blue moon.
