Is this a thing on the 2nd gen (specifically 2010) and what should I look for to see if mine needs a reroute?

I'd kind of like to think they did something different during the reframe, but....

The drain for the ac drips onto the frame and eventually creates a rust spot, the reroute is basically a hose that comes down beneath the frame

Yes it's a thing and yes you want to do it. Just need to extend the drain hose a few inches so it doesn't drip right on the frame. Like 5 minutes after you have the hose.

Literally almost every 4x4 toyota for some dumb reason. My 98 Landcruiser does it, my 07 FJC did it, my wife's '12 T4R does it, and IIRC my first gen taco did it too. It's one of the first things I do to my toyota 4x4s is extend that drain below the frame.

Strange..IDK if they changed the style or did that when the frame swap happened?

Sounds easy enough..I need to check it

Think of it as having to uphold the tradition..

The " I never use my a/c length" lol. But my guess is probably 8 to 12" extension

I use the lazy man length. I had a 2-3' hose with a ID greater than the OD of the stock hose. I slipped it over the stock hose, overlapped by 4-6", cranked a zip down to secure it and then just cut the hose flush with the bottom of the frame. It was imprecise and waaaay bush league for my tastes, but it worked well.

When I did my AC drain relocate, I bought a 6 foot 5/8 hose from Ace Hardware for $3 on clearance and a stainless steel pipe clamp for $.80. I think I still have 5 feet of it.

With the hurricane coming through, we might cut the trip short and come home Sunday. I`m not interested in camping under really big trees with high winds and heavy rain.
