Lost wages, pain and suffering, as well as medical bills are no joke when you have nothing to lean on from the people responsible.

It's all up to you. I've seen people who were permanently injured on the job and all they did was fill out the paperwork for the incident, used insurance to heal up, and came back to work with a lifelong injury and they were fine with it for whatever reason. Some people don't care, but its important to know that you have more power in these things than employers want you to believe.
