Help!! My truck smells like a winery.

On the way home the other night from a BYOB I had a half of bottle of white (Thank God) wine on the back floor. Well it fell over and spilt on the floor making my truck smell like a bar.

I wiped it up best I could and patted it up. But how the hell do I get this smell out of my truck. Keep in mind it's 20 degrees out and nothing wants to dry.

Well, I wouldn't go around with partial bottles of alcohol in your ride. It violates the open container law in PA. Can't help much with the smell, you could try a carpet cleaner machine.

 

Ouch, My only suggestion is find yourself a garage and get a hold of a carpet cleaner. They have those small spot cleaner ones that work great. That or you gut the interior. and rince out the carpet and let it dry.
You could also try "Spot Shot" That stuff works good on stains, and it has a pretty strong clean smell to it. But again would prob need to have it dry out. Just put a space heater in there! LOL

 

You could get a small space heater and put it in the truck, aimed at the we carpet to aid in cleaning, or a dehumidifier on the backseat with the windows rolled up.

 

carpet cleaning machine with a shitload of oxi clean. Then pet stain remover, the kind with the anit oder shit in it. I was picking up two of my soldier's from the bar to keep them out of trouble and they BOTH puked in my truck. Smelled like whisky and ,well puke. Oxi clean, green machine and pet cleaner worked well

 

Yeah I was going to say use some pet stain remover and try that. Then after try some febreze furniture spray to try and help get rid of the alcohol smell.

"Black Ice" little tree air fresheners, completely open a 3 pack.

It's probably going to take a heavy mix of laundry detergent scrubbed by hand to get most of the wine smell out, then a rug doctor steam cleaner, hot hot rinse and repeat.

Give a couple detail shops a call, see what they use (or charge).

 

Yeah the girl didn't want to throw it away and I never thought it would have ended up all over my floor.

I have work all weekend again otherwise I would prolly take you up on that... Thank you for the offer though. I am really trying to avoid ripping my entire interior out of the truck.

Fucking thing is 6 months old.

Yeah I'm afraid of the po-po putting my through all the DUI BS just because my truck smells like booze.

Im thinking about calling a few detail shops. If they are cheap enough I might just drop it off and save myself the trouble.

Grab a little green machine from walmart or whatever. The heated one is preferred. Usually runs about 80 bux. Prespray and have at it. Should be able to pull out the majority of stuff. Or, like you said, find a quality detailer with an industrial size extractor (check on autopia for locals in your area) and pay them to do it.

 

Hey you could get some winos to lick the carpet dry for you! You could try a small bag of charcoal, punch about 5 holes with screwdriver in it and put down a towel or plastic, lay charcoal on it and let it sit. Will asorb some of the odor. Works great if floors get wet and musty smelling. Let me know how it works?
