I have years of experience with the Dakars and Alcans with exact same design so I know what will happen, just humble enough to allow for the possibility I might be wrong by saying "usually". Test it out, you'll see, and I would appreciate you reporting back on it

I may have to give Accutune a call and see if they have anything in stock. I put in an order from ADS and Deaver to build a 13" mid travel setup almost 4 weeks ago, so while it hasn't been that long, I keep reading these type of stories and it makes me wonder when (if) my number will ever come up.

This spring we had Aiden James Customs of Santa Monica install Hammer hangers on our custom Deaver springs with great results. The custom springs were, I believe, $300 more than the heavy duty Dobinsons (model 176).

The new hangers! Notice the amount of leaf springs

    Not much stock left.
That’s some serious springs. I thought my Deaver III’s were beefy.

You'd really benefit from a cross tube for those hammer hangers considering your camper. Only problem is moving the spare tire.

Thanks. Carrying at least 7,000 lbs full time, according to Deaver that’s what was needed. Looks like the leaf pac from my old F250

Yup! But like you said where does the spare go. Guess I could just travel with a tire repair kit - nope!

Awesome! Thanks Jared. We're just trying to inspire others to get out. It's not as hard or as expensive as it sounds

These look very interesting, and the reviews Ive been reading seem universally positive. If I have a decent angle grinder and am relatively handy, shouldn't be too challenging installing a set of these myself? I also run Icon RXT springs at the type 2 setting (so with one of the leaves switched out for the stronger one), will that interfere at all with them?

Yep, you can tackle this yourself, but it is good to leave yourself an extra day as a backup, a balljoint press is handy because it clamps the frame and crossmember together and saves drill time.

These can transform the rear ride and make it a composed vehicle, and then the durability for off road is vastly increased

The RXT don't have design flaws so they fit fine with stock hangers/shackles and Hammer hangers as well.

Dobinsons 112 pack. These are the shackles I took of when I installed HH, so they will probably fan out more and be worse with HH. No more “speculation”

Thank you for posting the evidence to help others understand.
    For others reading this:
Any leaf pack where the 2nd leaf that extends inside the shackle cavity is NOT compatible with the Tacoma shackle arrangement. Currently, this includes all Australian leaf packs from OME, Dobinsons, which are based off the typical Hilux design, and the standard Alcan offering, must be modified to avoid damage to Tacoma shackles and jamming while articulating.

The interference is due to leaf packs not being designed for the application.

Know what you're buying people, be discerning

Hi Eric, I'm very happy with my Hammer Hangers, Cross Tube, U-bolt flip kit that I purchased from you back in April of 2019. I originally installed this with Icon RXT leaf spring and have since added to much weight for the Icon Pack to handle and have installed a Deaver Expedition series stage 3 pack. I'm happy with the way the truck rides with these springs but I would like to lower the rear about 1 1/2". I think the best way would be to install a longer shackle so maybe a 5" shackle instead of the stock 3.6" Tacoma shackle. What is your opinion on how to accomplish this?

That method of lowering doesn't work for 2 reasons:
    1. The shackles are slightly under the frame rails, so they can only be so long (You can't do like you see on true LT kits which move springs outboard from frame)
    2. The axle sees only 1/2 the height difference as the change in shackle length.

You probably have Version 2, so you could go to a 4.5" shackles which we still sell (doesn't fit V3) but will only lower about 0.5"
