Nice find on the topper and great price. They make the truck more useful IMO. Also great for a camping build out which is what I’m doing with mine.

I like it on this truck, I need a truck without one as well which is why I hang onto the 2003 Duramax, plus I pull tractors and our camper with it although we haven't been camping in a few years

I think it was 2018; my '19 doesn't have one, either.

Thinking about your topper lock, could you just tie it into the same place the tailgate lock goes? There's a grommet to run it into the cab on the passenger side to tie it into the door locks. You wouldn't even need to make it look pretty to give it a test run. Assuming there isn't a voltage or polarity issue.

Search for "Pop-n-Lock" or similar; there's a bunch of threads; basically two options: The driver's side where it will unlock with the first press of the fob, or the passenger's side (slightly easier) where you need to press the fob button twice to unlock it.

I changed the settings to where they all unlock pressing it once, I'm headed to the passenger side with it. I found a video showing where to hook it.

I'd test that first; I have mine set to open all four doors at once as well, but according to the directions that came with mine, even if it's set that way, running from the passenger side connection will still require two button presses.

You are correct, passenger side requires 2 button presses to unlock the lock, I am going to leave it that way. It works great!!!

I never use the buttons on my fob, I just use the door handle.

I do wish there was one on the passenger side (without having to tear the door apart) like my wife's Highlander.

Better yet, all 4 doors like a friend's Ranger.

3rd brake light wired, inside light wired, only required 2 band aids and somehow I managed to get bit by an ant 3 times on my neck/chest.

I guess that's a 2020 thing? I thought they all had passenger side touch entry but then again I've never checked, lol.
