Strip. Helps a bunch on chunky descents and wet weather riding, seems like I squeeze less and get less arm pump.

Zipp rims are awesome. Riding on loose off camber and rocky terrain, they actually make a difference.

anyone have experience swapping DUB cranks? the videos don't seem too difficult and doesn't seem like i could damage too much, but think that I could damage something. just swapping a NX 175 for a GX 170

Onyx are super cool. In my experience you can certainly notice the instant engagement. Blah blah weight they're in the middle of the hub so it's neglible. Just take a shit before your ride to offset

What BB do they use? I wonder what the exact failure mode is. Thanks.

What are yall running for eye protection with your half shells?

I'm currently just using some basic clear shooting glasses but looking for something maybe a little more durable and fog/sweat resistant.

So from what I read about Onyx is that they're instant, but can feel kind of spongy, if you're a sensitive rider, and that makes me wonder. Obviously in their design they have to expand to grab the outer housing causing that "spongy" feeling effect, would this save chains? I had my first chain break this week. Also, would a higher POE save chains as well since it gives you less time to build up toque before the hub engages?

Also, I know Onyx originals are heavy, if I went Onyx I'd want the Vespers I think.. I'm just bored at work right now mostly. More research.

The cheapo Amazon specials, as far as fog resistance I'd put a little foam on the nose part of the glasses that can touch forehead.

My glasses don't fog until I push them up too far and they touch my head, I haven't sprayed or cleaned with any anti fog stuff. I imagine doing that would alleviate most issues.

    Yeah.
I wear glasses, and I started with some cheapo prescription glasses from Zenni optical that have corrective lenses behind the plastic wrap-around protective lenses. Not sure how protective those actually were, fit wasn't great, and the mini corrective lenses didn't give a great field of view. I eventually splurged for some prescription Adidas. I have a pair in tinted (some special tinting that is not too dark and supposedly "enhances" what you can see) and a pair in clear. Expensive, but well worth it. The correction wraps around as well, like wearing contacts.

PSA for SLC - There is a Pivot demo at Go Ride Draper today (Friday) and at Go Ride SLC tomorrow (Saturday). You have to make a reservation for a specific bike via the Pivot website. I scored a Trail 429 Enduro for today and a Firebird for tomorrow...hoping it's the new one but who knows??
