Wait, the blue truck used to function on the street? It looks unmodified there other than the 1990s wheels.

So many questions.... How old are they, how worn are they, are they 3PMSF marked, do you have experience driving in snow and ice, et al...

Not singling you out specifically, but basically don't be that person that locks up I-70/285 for everyone because your tires are junk or you don't the experience handing a RWD truck on ice (cause these aren't AWDs when you don't turn engage 4x4).

Also, Colorado chain laws go into effect in about 12 days.
    https://www.codot.gov/travel/colorado-chain-law

Code 16/Passenger Chain Law: All passenger vehicles need chains, except for 4WD and AWD vehicles with all-weather tires with 3/16 inch tread depth.

Not 100% sure the mileage on them but under 40k. not sure if these are the tires that the original owner had or if these got put on at stevinson west when they put the truck on the lot. i believe they do have that marked. Been snowboarding for 25 years and working in snowboarding for 12 so ive got plenty of time driving in snow. Every vehicle ive owned ive always bought tires right away, mostly cause they came with shit ones but these seems decent. Looks like they are the goodyear wrangler AT w/ kevlar

Edit; I dont know shit about this tire and done a good amount of research and its still just a toss up from most people.

"not sure… but under 40k" could still mean anything. How much tread depth do they have? How old are they?

Personally, I'd check the date codes on those tires and if they are more then 3 years old, I'd get new ones.
All you haters from earlier DOT code chat can start a new thread about how "ten year old tires are fine" and what not. :boink::bananadead:

I have no experience with those OEM 3rd gen Tacoma street tires, so I can not comment on their performance.

I grew up in the rust belt driving on snow/slush/ice with manual transmission FWD/AWD cars and 2WD trucks. When I tried out a set of snow tires a few winters ago here I did not see any measurable improvements of dedicated snow tires over a fresh set of KO2s.
So my personal recommendation is a set of 3PMSF rated all-terrain tires.
