Thanks, @MagtechPA. Sure was. iPhone 12 Pro Max with a little tweaking in Snapseed. Left the DSLR at home this time. I'll likely be dragging it out soon with fall right around the corner.

I will say though, the natural lighting and fog were perfect already.

It was pissing rain and the visor kept fogging up so had to keep it cracked a little but it didn’t stop the rain from flying in and under.
All my shit is dripping all over the carpet here at work and man, did I get some funny looks walking in!

Pinlock sucks in the rain. Their literature even recommends against it. You get a really bad prism affect from oncoming headlights or streetlights.

I can actually see that. noticed it very mildly a couple times just in twilight hour with some taillights.

It's great for fogging though. Can't even get it to fog when i try lol

I obviously don’t ride in rain! Or read all their literature. :D:anonymous:

I've likely ridden in rain as much as some riders have done in the sunshine! Back in 2012 when I picked up my first FJR I got involved in long distance rallying and in those event you ride, rain or shine! Got caught during one of the Void Rally event in Hurricane Matthew and put down well over 400 miles and likely 14-15 hours in torrential rain and wind.

Pinlocks are good for preventing fogging inside your visor but they don't last forever. I ride enough that mine only last about 2 or maybe 3 years and then need replaced. Nighttime riding with them is less than optimal because they even admit the added layer can and will block some visibility. I get that with age my eyesight isn't what it was when I was younger but they really block a fair amount of light. Riding to work on a winter morning my visor might not fog but oncoming cars make it brutal. Serious halo and rainbow affect from the oncoming lights.

I have the “anti fog” laminated face shield but when it’s pissing rain and the humidity is so high, I’m not sure what would actually work.

The last time I got caught in a rainstorm it was a really bad one. I would call it a torrential downpour, plus it was during evening rush hour on a congested four-lane road.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that it wasn’t just hard for me to see with all the rain, but it was also harder for motorists to see me.

I made it home safe but learned a pretty important lesson - check the forecast and radar before riding. Also, I now keep my phone sealed in a plastic baggie whenever I ride. :D

Doubled my miles today. Got 68 now. The break in procedure has me doing a lot of street riding or id open it up on the freeway.

1k miles, but I’ll double check the FSM. Basically just have to ride easy and not go past 2k rpm- which is right where the power band kicks in.

Only pictures I have of today are the after shots of swapping out my front turn signals this morning. In keeping with the minimalist approach to lighting, I removed the bullet front turn signals for the low profile lights I had on the past bike. White for running lights, switchback to amber for turn/hazard.

BTW for any Harley guys here, I have two more sets of these mini lights available. One is a switchback light and the other is on/off amber only (unless you wire in a separate single-wire harness). The amber only set is slightly brighter but you wouldn’t notice unless you compared the two directly.

$25 shipped for either set- whoever wants them.

tl:dr I accidentally left the gas on for an hour, it leaked passed the float and into the cylinder nearly hydro locking it. After I drained the carb it would run but not on idle. Finally figured out I smell gas in the oil and I need to change the oil but first I needed to address why it happens (aside from my own stupidity) which led me to a bad float seat o ring. Replaced that and cleaned the carb, hoping once I change the oil she will be mint again.

Describes my commute today this morning. Except I knew what I was getting into. More or less.

Calm seas make not a skilled sailor.

Get out and ride in the wet, the cold and the adverse so you know what your bike and you can adapt to.

Only way to learn is get out there and do.
