Aloha, I bought the BD5 3rd brake light from Meso Customs and can only find install videos and demos on TW that are incomplete and skip a bunch of steps. Is there anybody in western Washington that I can pay to wire this up proffesionally? It has 3 baja designs red lights and 2 white lights. I also bought a relay and wiring kit because it says it recommends using one. Now i'm even more confused trying to implement the relay. Let me know if you or someone you know in Washington state that can wire this up for me please! Mahalo!

I don't think I'm qualified to break things in other people's vehicles.

I'm enough of a danger to myself with angry pixies. A brake light that needs a relay is outta my league.

I've been sitting on some DD Pro pods because of wiring and the need to measure for a standoff. LoL!

Maybe @crashnburn80 ? Otherwise, @daveeasa or @Puppypunter might be able to gen up a PnP harness?

If it works out for him I can wire it for you. I’m in Oregon.

You are OR MT so I assume non-Canadian and therefore DC. We have done our best to figure out a plug and play connection to the OEM connector and failed miserably. Apparently MESO custom molded one with @NoOne 's help.

Your easiest path forward is something like:

    1. Take all the black wires, butt connector or solder them to a nice 16 or 14 gauge black wire with a loop on the other end and ground that solid to a bolt somewhere. Ideally an existing factory ground point but anything which has 0 ohms resistance will work. MESO says not to use the connector for ground.
    2. Take the red light red wires together and cut off the OEM connector, solder or butt connector them to the brake light wire. I believe this wire is purple.
    3. Do the same with the white light red wires and the green wire
Test and if I got the colors wrong, swap them. You could use insulated bullet connectors there if you wanted to get fancy.

@kmorgan3 you're giving away those gold molded connectors? How many do you have?

Would be rad if we had a few pigtails to put together with some heat shrink labels, that'd be 80% of the work.

Na I had him send me the entire housing, lights, and connector from @MESO and just crimped it and wrapped it nicely. Pure labor; nothing sourced by me.

@Skydvrr do you have a MESO plug with yours or did you just get the housing?

K, so, I think my recommendation is a decent plan for anyone looking to just get it done. Any form of butt connector or solder or crimp and heat shrink is fine, it doesn't need to be sealed as it's in the cab, just make sure it doesn't short and use a nice solid ground. From there it's purple vs green for brake vs cargo and you're done. @RUD3BOY you can do this.

I need to redo my ground. Isnt there one by one of the rear seatbelts?

I am sadly not knowledgeable on the topic of interior grounds other than the cupholder space in an MT. I am so unbelievably behind on installing my car stereo (zero progress) and any form of 3rd brake light (also zero progress) that it makes me feel a level of embarrassment I am ashamed to even admit.

All you have to do is flip on the bat light and he just appears.
