See that's what I don't get and exactly what I experienced. There are very few posted there where I would say, "Yeah you shouldn't go on the beach with that." Like there are literal Wranglers stuck. I'm not even sure how you get a Wrangler stuck in the sand. I'm pretty sure I've put a Wrangler in the sand with fully inflated tires in 2WD mode trying to get it stuck because this is what you do when you're young and have multiple jeeps with the means to pull each other out and still wasn't able to get myself stuck in loose sand.

This is kind of the philosophy and understanding I've always had but again I just don't understand some of the 2WD locals I see cruising around at times.

For all the hilarity of that Corolla FB group the only people doing truly stupid shit were people getting paid. Every time I'd look up to see what idiot was letting the actual waves hit his Wrangler it had "SHERIFF" written on the side and he was yelling at someone.

I guess truly the best 4x4 is the one that you don't own.

You misunderstand a lot of things about my intentions. Talking about doing a thing is a lot different than actually doing said thing. I'd honestly never take a 2WD on someone else's beach that I don't know, period.

I just really got to looking around as to who was driving what this year and thought maybe I could get by for a few months. It would seem my conventional wisdom is still conventional wisdom.

Still would be pretty funny to see a Bolt catch fire on the beach.

Yeah I really don't understand people who don't air down. I air down 5-10 PSI depending on starting pressure when I go on dirt roads if it's going to be a real stint, sand it's not even optional.

Like wouldn't you at least Google it with all the signs? "Do I really need to air down to drive on the beach?" I could never imagine ignoring literally everything telling you to air down, not stop, be considerate, etc. and still going on to the beach not knowing anything about driving on the beach with at least checking out if it really mattered.

I'm not sure those questions are rhetorical because I literally do not understand how it still happens en masse and I'd have to assume is the chief cause of all those Wranglers and Explorers getting stuck and featured on the FB group.

If you never intended to do it..why start a thread about it? And no, nothing catching fire on the beach is funny.

It depends on the sand. We have been to the East Florida coast area many times. Some places the sand is as easy to drive on as pavement. But just a mile down the beach you'll see these huge signs saying "4X4 only beyond this this sign". They ain't kidding. I'm always amazed at the folks who either can't read or don't think it means them. I watched a guy driving a F350 with dual wheels bury his 2wd truck. His rear wheels were only 5' off the pavement. Guy blocked the entrance/exit to the beach for quite a while.

Man I saw something burned uncontrolled on a beach for 20 minutes, you're not joking.

But at the same time, a Bolt on fire on the beach would be pretty funny.

As I said I saw some locals doing it and thought I'd ask. Threads be long so I don't expect you to inspect every word but I did say the overall intention was to wind up in a Taco + 4-Runner or Gladiator + 4-Runner and that it would be a stop gap or something I just bring to the house and park.

So I made a thread to see if I could have said intentions rather than just doing it. The only thing you have my guilty of is driving a Titan on the beach sir, everything else is inquiring so I wouldn't be said idiot stuck on the beach being a jerk.

That was easily Googleable. Saw this thing burn from up the beach a ways, guy had to be right at the VA border.
