So here in North Texas we've been getting a lot of rain lately and after running the streets my Tacoma gets a bit dirty. And like muscle memory, I naturally head to the local carwash. I pay 20 bucks a month for as many washes I need so I try and take advantage of the situation.

I'm averaging between two and four visits a week because I like a clean pickup truck. So I ask my fellow Tacoma owners, how often do you wash your Tacoma ?

    It's a secret
I wash mine once it reaches a dustiness of "looks like a landscaper's truck"

Never, always hand-washed, especially a non-touchless car wash, terrible for your vehicle, even touchless, recycled trash water, harsh detergents, no thanks, I like my paint and clearcoat.

Damn how does a carwash stay in business with Unlimited washes for 20 bucks a month?

Is that carwash near Grapevine/Keller area? That sounds like a good deal.

All depends on you. You do know that those things destroy your paint? They will leave huge swirl marks? Especially if you wash your truck that often?

I hand wash my truck once a week on Saturdays. And then use a blower to dry it. I plan on keeping this truck for about 10-15 years and want the paint to last as long as it can.
My dog has other plans for the side of my bed though. Always leaning over and scratching where the trd decals are. Lol but I trained him out of it

Lately it’s been 1-2 times per month. It’s a truck, not a show car so I drive it right through the gas station car wash after filling up

It’s a truck, not a Mercedes. Besides, you get a new truck before it even gets dirty. Lol :D

Auto bell on the east coast makes millions of dollars a year off 90 locations. 29$ a month unlimited when I was working there years ago. 800-1000 car washes a day at my location alone.

Never in a carwash. It scratches the shit out of the paint and clear. Hand wash or it stays dirty.

Ya and how do you think I get killer trade values prior to covid? Properly maintained paint. Not hard to wash yourself the right way and properly coat especially with current paint protection products, and our trucks cost more than base some Mercedes models. No new trucks for me, close on my first home next week!

I know, I cringed when I saw that second picture. I can only imagine the swirl marks in that paint

The land the carwash is on costs not $1,000,000 but $50,000.

Along with dislodged-torn off trim, windshield wipers, etc.

That poor hood scoop must have some serious road rash from those plastic bristles.

With all my prior sports cars I was a madman. I would hand wash like every two weeks weather permitting. And would fully clay/polish/ceramic at least once a year.

With this truck I just don't care. Its huge, and I think I prefer it a bit dirty TBH. Been feeling kinda bad about the neglect I've given it over the past year.

I've washed it like 4 times in a year, but then again I barely have to go to my office anymore.
