I sat in one at the New Hope Auto Show last Sunday and loved it; A 1993 model with the Diesel engine. Best part? It issues a lot of the same parts as a Montero so it’s incredibly easy and cheap to maintain!

 

I have a truck with a really bad frame, another (same gen) with a great frame. Should I sell one to buy an all new frame+install. Or as the others have suggested get another frame and ask someone else (like yourself) to do the swap.

On a side note I'm thinking I'll either have to sell my working taco whole to pay for the repairs and getting another frame, or part it out down to the frame for the swap.

In short.. I'm broke and have two trucks.

 

If it's cheaper that way I will but I don't have the ability to do this myself; I'd require a dealer or another mechanic to swap the frames on my behalf.

While not a pre-made patch, I ran into a similar situation with my 1981 Datsun 280ZX in 1991. Found rust and a couple of rotted pieces, so I took it to a few welding shops. They all mentioned the issue of what the weld is surrounded by and attached to as something to consider. In that particular case it was as bad if not worse than Tacoma frames I've seen, and worth much less even without that issue. Definitely something to weigh out.

One place quoted me and said "but that's what it will cost next time, and the time after that, etc" since I had a rusty frame all over I would be chasing it. How long before another part needed attention, nobody knows...

 

Took the girlfriend out on a date and my backup camera started acting up again; Shutting off and restarting the engine fixed it…

 

Nope; Next week…

 

I took these the other day; One of the other houses in the new development finally has the central A/C in!

 

Also, something embarrassing happened tonight (technically last night since it is presently 12:45am); The foglight wire in my truck was hanging down and I didn’t realize it…

My girlfriend has a REALLY STEEP driveway; I stomped on the parking brake when I backed into her driveway after our date, and ripped the entire wireless harness out, destroying the foglight switch module in the process. Now, the foglights will not stay on!

Luckily, the part is only a little over eight bucks on Amazon…

 

Almost did that myself once. I ended up tying that up above the brake

Two days, but this isn’t the girl I was telling you about before; She’s a lying bitch. This new girl is Rose, who used to be roommates with the other girl. Things are progressing really well and really fast…

Are those units just tall and skinny where others are lower and wider or are they just big?

 

The one in the back is of a larger nominal tonnage than the one closer to where I was standing; Both are Lennox Merit Series units...

 

Yeah that one in the back looks quite large!

 

Probably a 3-ton or 4-ton...

 

I already forgot what size mine is, maybe 1.5 or 2.5.
