I more so meant does it matter if the heim is vertical or horizontal as the camburg adapters will allow any orientation.

As long as they aren’t interfering with the clevis - vertical ish is how they’re usually oriented

That’s kinda what I figured since tie rods will see more vertical movement than horizontal movement.

The heims ALWAYS need to be vertical. You need to make sure to locktite the clevis in so they don’t rotate. Attached is a pic of my 2500HD for reference

Hey everyone! Prolly a dummy question here... So if one goes long travel in the front how do you widen the rear so its the same? Do they even make 3.5/4.5 spacers?

run 1.5-2” spacers or do an axle swap to something wider.

Dropped it at my buddies shop last night to get some front wings fabbed for that bumper. I'm just waiting on my JDFab 934cvs to get going on the front end

You don’t need the track width to match.

OK but if I did how do I do it? New axle? I'm trying to avoid the prerunner look but get maximum wheel downtravel.

Remember that front track width changes throughout the travel on ifs. I'm running +2.25" in the front with 1.5" spacers in the back, and the rear is barely narrower than the front at ride height.

You could run 2" spacers on the rear with a +3.5" kit and it would look/perform well, or get a wider axle.

Somebody might be able to correct me here, but as far as I know and have experienced, generally, if the rear track width is too much wider than the front, you will tend to get understeer, and if the rear is narrower you will get oversteer. In my opinion having the rear slightly narrower drives the best.

I haven’t measured but with 2.25 up front and .5 spacers in the rear it looks pretty damn even. Front maybe a hair wider. I’ve also heard, maybe from Harry, that it’ll drive better with the front wider than the rear.

Another question haha Can I mount positive offset wheels to mitigate the wider stance? I really want the longer wheel travel specs but minimize how wide the truck gets.

Depends on the tire size you’re running and how quickly the wheel or tires hits the uca or spindle (especially if you run sway bar spindle gussets).

Backspacing is the number to really pay attention to. On the JD kit, 4.5” backspacing is as high as you can go. So if you can find a narrower wheel with 4.5” BS then you’re good. A common wheel spec is 8” wide with 0 offset (4.5” backspacing) and that’s about as least aggressive as you can get.

This is specific to the JD kit but you mentioned it a couple comments back which is why I assume that’s what you have.
