Yeah I placed a new 600lb feeder over a week ago, I need to throw a camera up on it, to see what animals have found it, I know the birds(dove and whistling ducks) were there the next day. I used to have an awesome dove lease 20min from the house, lost that 2 years ago I have a friend coming down tomorrow to check things out, he has been wanting to bird hunt for the past 3 years.
lol my trailer trash accommodations should not be as scary now. Really looking forward for the white wing hunt this year, lots birds out there.

Good deal, I just need a new motor and solar for the one feeder and I have another one here that will need parts to make it all work. It's just getting it all there is the challenge at times. Think I'm gonna tow the cart out there this time so I can use it to haul stuff around. I can use the truck but I will just add more pinstripes to it which is not the end of the world but would like to minimize if possible.

With the extra rains/moisture this year, I bet that brush is out of control and narrowed your normal paths/road.

I am guessing that as well, one path in particular was already scraping both sides. Need to widen it so it is no longer an issue, one day.

    Good evening fellas!

Well... This afternoon i realized headwind definitely does matter and cause some major issues with MPGs... I took a drive down to corpus this afternoon to pick up a goodie(more on that later ;-) and i was getting a horrendous 14.7 mpgs on the way down. Driving 65-70mph.. i never get that bad of milage unless I'm towing my camper! It really had me worried that my new gears f'd everything up. Even though the truck was running great. Holding in 6th gear the entire time without amy strange changes like it used to.

Then... on the way back averaged 20.6 mpgs. Now thats more normal for my highway driving. Again, driving same speed 65-70 the entire way. I never knew that the wind resistance can do that much of a change to our trucks in efficiency. I guess driving towards the coast can have that affect? I didn't notice a lot more wind noise on the way down, but not on the way back... normally I font hear anything since my truck has been sound deaden. Welp..

Has anyone else had a similar experience like this?

When I drove out for that meet up in March I fought the wind all the way there and got like 12 mpg.
The wind was kind enough to shift by the time I left so I fought it all the way back too.
I noticed that when I went up to Wyoming as well, that headwind will get you.

My nose is a little high though, before I did my suspension I was getting a 21.6mpg average. Now my average is 16.7mpg.
Another reason I’m planning to return to stock height

Yes this is normal, if you ever head to coast always try to go first thing in the morning to avoid the wind coming from the coast makes a huge difference. When we had the RV I topped off in Pleasanton, just made it over the bridge headed towards Port A and was out of gas again and filled at the nearest station. On the way home made it all the way on a tank.

On a side note, with your tune have you had it redone for your 4.88 gears?
