Are they covering the diminished value of your 2021 truck? You do realize CarFax will soon show vehicle damage. Be prepared to accept less when its time for your Tacoma to find a new home especially if you trade it in to a dealer, CarMax,etc as they will for sure run a Carfax report.

Plenty of cars sell with damage claims all day long. When I sold my Civic and 1st gen Tacoma I pretty much laughed when someone tried to use a Carfax damage report as a tool to negotiate. There are plebeian vehicles for plebeian people they're not a 1987 Porsche 930S

But your civic and 1st gen were not less than a year old when you sold them? That's a big difference.

For a new frame for my truck, I waited until April 25 (the day Toyota gave my dealer the official go ahead) until roughly July 10 for it to be built and shipped from Mexico to Massachusetts. July 19 I got the call to pick up my truck.

Getting trees cut down is insanely expensive, I just had 1 tree completely removed and 2 others trimmed down and it was close to 4 grand.

a couple decades ago, my mom bought a new Accord, first year of redesign and they were in demand. My dad took it to work and it got smashed in a hail storm. The new roof took months, I don't remember how long. Of course since it was a first year of a redesign there were no used.

Wow. I had 1 removed and it was $1500. It was well over 200 years old and it was in my backyard also.

dumb question: how do they put a new roof on? Wouldn’t they have to cut the old one off and weld a new one on?

I wonder that also as I believe the cab is full of high strength steels so not sure if welding would be appropriate.

Is the OP selling this year?

Vehicles are damaged all the time. I once sold a BMW that had 9k worth of repaired damage and guess what? The Carfax was clear even years after that claim.

I did disclose the damage to the new owner and I didn't give him a discount.

I doubt they'll use panel bond

    https://rts.i-car.com/ask-i-car/10645.html

What does Toyota say about using adhesive bonding for panel replacement?

    Response

Per Toyota Bulletin #176 - Approved Collision Repair Methods:

Approved Repair Methods is “Adhesive & Weld Bonding at Specified Locations” and a "Method Not Approved" is "Substituting Adhesive for Welds".

Not if you put free firewood you cut down, but of course you must be licensed, bonded and insured.

I see these stupid ads all the time and it's usually for some trash firewood like Cottonwoods or back home salt cedars

Nope. As someone who just dealt with insurance on this I can state it is not the "tree owner's" responsibility. Like @Buck Henry said, unless the tree owner knew that the tree could cause damage and you can prove it, it is yours to deal with. They don't even have to help you clean it up lol. Same applies to homes as well *in most states*

I'm pretty sure you can't file a diminished value claim against your own insurance. That only applies to collisions where the other party's insurance pays.

But I'm not too worried, I plan on keeping this one for a long time.
