There's this thing called comprehensive insurance. Which makes the believability of said claim a whopping zero percent.

I keep my tailgate locked, and if someone breaks the lock and steals my tailgate I’ll deal with it then with my insurance. Not gonna spend $110 on a pretty little painted red piece of metal for something that’s not a thing around where I live. And if someone does break your tailgate lock but doesn’t steal your tailgate because you have red thingie you still have a lock replacement to do.

I guess if you’re ok with paying a $250 deductible every time. It’s all good!

I’m good with the risk is so low it’s nowhere near worth the trouble or expense of a red thingie ;)
Are you good with paying out of pocket for a tailgate lock replacement since they will break it as they try to steal your tailgate?

Probably because I'm not as "Macho" as you. I'm waiting on my lift and tires so I can clear the speed bumps at to Mall. May be even need some sliders?! Good thing my truck is 100% paid off!
Now back to doing mods on my "Mall Crawler"!!

Fair enough, was giving my opinion on the red tailgate lock not your decision to purchase it. My decision is simply not to lol. Nice truck by the way.

Oh? Almost forgot 2nd gen skid plate until I can figure out if the TRD skid will work with the Diff Drop.

The Sabelco lock was a good idea, also consider putting washers over the cable eyes on each side of the tailgate, that keeps the cables from being lifted off also, a very cheap tailgate security mod. If you use a small metal or thick plastic spacer and then put the washer on over that on the bolt, it will hold the cables on without letting them slip off and allows them to rotate when you open and close the tailgate. I have a post on here somewhere about how to do it, I’ll try to find it.

Also suggest a differential breather relocation too, especially the rear one. Those mall sprinklers are bad news!

You don't need a diff drop for 5100s as it won't even be 2.5"
