Just paid MSRP for a '21 DCLB sport white. I am picking it up at the dealership on Tuesday. Not a penny less at Scranton Toyota. I have been trying to get my truck since June 1 and kept getting the allocations skipped at all my local south east NY dealerships... Had 3 deposits down. Some NYC and New Jersey dealers were asking for up to 10% over MSRP! Saw the news yesterday about the 40% cut in Toyota productions so I searched and had to find something that would work for me. Not my first color choice, but it will grow on me. I also ended up with about $1500 in accessories that I wouldn't have went with but were manufacture installed... Like $650 for predator step rails that will be removed the same day I get the truck.

I see you are in LI, did you find a fair dealer? I am in westchester and started looking in a 300 mile radius. btw, i believe the step rails are the same for longbed and short bed. As long as it is 4 doors.

unfortuntely not down here, the few I spoke to that had incoming inventory with my "must haves" tried asking for 10k above msrp...
tried negotiating with them but the lowest they came was 4k above so I walked

the other few that "assured" me would sell at msrp didn't have any and told me to order one would be a 3-6 months wait but not trying to wait that long :frusty:
so ended up reserving an incoming one at a philly area dealer for msrp which apparently was built this week and now scheduled for delivery mid/end september :fingerscrossed:

Not a taco, but I got quoted $4680 discount off msrp on a new 2021 camry SE. Im going to go check out the deal tomorrow but looks like dealers are willing to still do a little dealing on some cars.

I know this seems crazy but I am from LI and live in SC. For 2k+ I would easily drive 13 hours.

I'm flying to MI to pick up a 21 pro on Monday morning (10 hour drive home)from Laguardia, the tri-state area prices are absurd on mark up or they laugh when you ask about vehicles.

Going to Szott Toyota outside of detroit and hope they don't try to rip me off. Low dealer fee, sales guy seemed like a good dude.

Xtremsiege2, I just did the same at Szott Toyota. Great experience. I flew in from Spokane, WA to pick up my 2021 TRD OR. They picked me up at the airport, completing the deal was quick; only complaint I had was financing girl, said they include three upsales are mandatory: wheel/tire protection, key fob replacement, and locate your doors if stolen and parted out. Extra 1000$ but I just flew in and couldn’t find another truck for months so I said ok. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I had that thought, but I searched for months to find this truck and I would have had to pay at least that much for three tickets back. Not happy about the up sale, but love the truck.

8/2021 I just bought a TRD OFF RD 4x4 DCSB Tech package, rubber matts, LED lights and Fog lights, locks for rims sticker 40102. I tried to get them to give me 1k off they said 800 off of MSRP was the most and nobody got that in the past year I knew the salesmen biggest Toyota dealer in my State but after looking over the deal in the FNI office I got faked fees for 400 i yelled they were shocked but I have owned over 14 Toyotas. Only two Tacomas on the LOT and 10 Tundras that's all for trucks before Covid they would have had every color and combination 40 tacoma's not now. IN New England they are arriving on Saturday nights into Sunday. All dealers want you to give them down payment and wait for it to come in these trucks are all allotted trucks they pick from a pool they are put on trains then ships into NJ. They have none on the lots I have been going there for the past 2 months looking I went to get my oil changed in my RAV4 and saw the truck next to a SR5 and asked the salesmen, he said that truck was sold deposit down but the guy could not get the loan, his loss my gain. I kinda felt bad for a second the salesmen said the guy ordered the truck and could not get the loan he was still there on site the salesmen said come outside So they screwed me on my trade in 400 less so I really only got 400 off of MSRP that's when the salesmen told me all Tacoma's right now are selling for over MSRP and in CA they are going for 5k -10 over MSRP. I would never pay over MSRP. IN this climate of no tacomas on the dealers lots they will continue to get MSRP. I kinda feel as if they are doing this like Rolex does keep the supply low demand high so prices stay high. I might be wrong seems like the older I get the more wrong i am lol or I was always wrong and it took 50 years for me to realize it. lol

You just got one of the biggest looking Tacoma of all trim levels. White sport long bed is a beautiful combination! Congrats!

Before putting down a deposit and certainly before flying in to get one, always have them send you the work sheet with every part of the overall cost listed and have it signed by a manager.
If you did this and then they tacked on $1000 I would definitely be calling customer service. Pretty sure they would do something about that.

Bring your A game. I was working on a deal with their Ram Dealer down the road. At first it went well… till it didn’t. Now I am a happy Tacoma owner instead of a Ram.
May your experience be much better.

I have a DCSB coming in the next few weeks w/ the predator steps. I think I will probably take them off. I’m in Ohio near Cleveland. Not sure if you have any interest in meeting near Erie, PA?

I'm in Northern New England. Dealers here have no inventory on their lots. Tacos and other vehicles are bought on paper and exist only somewhere in the Toyota's computer scheduling system.

For instance, I went to the dealer on July 26 looking for a 4WD, DCLB, low trim line with minimal bells & whistles. Instead of going out to the empty lot, the salesman logged into his computer. He found that an SR5 with few options was scheduled to go into production mid August with a mid September delivery estimate. That truck was already allocated to his dealership. It had only $500 in additional options, all of which I deemed useful. I felt very lucky to have my target vehicle available, even though it's virtual at this point.

All said and done, my SR5 DCLB 4WD with $500 in options deal was just under $38,500 out the door, including all dealer and government fees. This was about $200 below the Toyota website's list price. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 was required. Considering many are selling above list price, I was pleased.

After reading articles about chip shortages and Toyota's reduced production, I called my dealer on August 20 and asked him to track my order. I was told that it is still on schedule which means is should now be in production. If this bears out to be true, I think I squeaked in under the wire on this one!

I'll keep you posted if and when I actually get the truck. Wish me luck!!
