I've had deflectors on my first and second generation with no problems...I installed the avs model on my 2021 tacoma and it is touching the top of the light casing on both lights. I've tried installing three times and ends up the same each time. I don't know if this is normal. My other two trucks seemed to have good clearance between the hood and lights. Kinda hard to see in picture but it is touching. Is this a big deal? What should I try doing differently? Thanks

Try adjusting the stops, under hood on core support. Turn them up a tad to relieve the contact to headlights

Idk, you may end up with more harm to the trucks surface if dirt collects between that as the truck shakes some when driven.

Thanks everyone! I tried adjusting it, still sitting right on the lights. I don't have confidence in the little bumper things, probably will fall off. Gonna send back and try weather tech.
Yep! Some of us still like using theses things! Lol.
Really loving my 2021 after having an 04 and a 13. This one is by far my favorite!
I am glad I found this group, looking forward to learning and laughing with everyone!

My first AVS was defective and touched the grill and lights. Seemed like holes were drilled incorrectly. Second replacement fit much better and only touches light housing at outside edges.

That sounds like what I gave going on. Was thinking of ordering one through the dealer and see if they get better results and I can return the one I got through Amazon.

congratulations! I have a WeatherTech one and no issues.

this is the main reason I have one too. I didn’t have one on my 06 Tacoma and I had so many chips on the front of the hood.

what about the other 99 % front end not covered ?????

it would have to be a bug ‘ magnet ‘ to be effective

not enuf wing to deflect over the windshield or the front grill & fascia

Oh, you're still stuck on the name.

In you opinion. What chips easier from rocks, the leading edge of a hood, or a plastic bumper?
