Wrong it uses a different suspension that gives a 1.1" level

Yes, the trail suspension is a leveling kit but not enough to really be worth keeping over 5100s or the TRD kit.

Sorry for not being specific enough for you. It doesn’t have the bilsteins.

Do you have a source for this claim? I am interested in the aesthetics of the 2022 trail edition but if it has a lower quality suspension compared to the TRD that sounds like a noticeable differentiating factor.

SR5s don’t have bilsteins (including current trail). If they added them to the trail, I’m certain they’d highlight that as a selling point.

    That’s a good point.

now I have a conundrum. Get the 2022 trail and upgrade suspension or just go with 2021 OR hmmm

    thanks for your input.

if you are planning to upgrade to the OR suspension you should just get the OR. if you are planning to upgrade to something that is not OEM, just get whichever is cheaper.

The Trail has the rear locking differential. You buy the trail, upgrade the suspension with aftermarket parts. Then debate how much better the Trail is when equipped with aftermarket shocks, than the Pro is with the Pro Fox shocks. Unless the Pro is a manual, and has the billet TRD UCA, that the trail owner still has to buy. Unless the trail is upgraded with aftermarket UCA, but the trail is still an automatic, and isn't equipped with OEM LED headlights, but it is available in Lunar Rock, and Army Green. The TRD OR, is available in both colors, and optional LEDs. The locker is standard on the OR, but not those sweet bronze wheels. You can get a manual on the OR, but you still have to upgrade the suspension to compete with the Pro, and only the Pro is available in Electric Lime. There is no GoPro mount on any of these trucks. Best bet is to buy a used Tacoma that still has the OEM GoPro mount.

Anyone know when these are hitting lots? I'm hoping they keep the trail for MY2023 but put the old halogen pro headlights.

Toyota should put those lights on all 3rd gens, that don't have LED headlights, and wire up the DRL LED.

    Yes 100%.

Yes 200% but I know they want to make money so I can understand charging for LEDs. I don't get giving ugly AF headlights. I guess people are buying so there’s no incentive for them to change.

What this tells me is that the OR will be moving up in price shortly. And the Pro.
