No one has mentioned tint yet so here goes. I have to leave my cell phone in my car everyday at work. I put it in the center console and have Xpel XR ceramic tint on all windows. Does a decent job of keeping the truck cool and never had an issue with cell overheating when I needed to use it.

A good ceramic tint and a small protective case (doesn’t have to be pelican) down low in the truck (under a seat) is a good option.

I just have a small Thermos cooler that I keep on the floor in the back of the cab. No cold pack. Just keep it open until I leave the vehicle. Haven’t had any problems yet. Also works great to keep the cellphone from getting overheated in the summer since we can’t take phones into the building I work in.

Why not use a CGM? Nothing extra to carry around, don't have to leave it in the truck, and it's water resistant and submersible for up to 30 min...

I use an oscar cooler packed with those pre-frozen ice packs. Same for a larger one when i'm out on the boat for a few hrs.

As a T1D (type 1 diabetic) for 20 years, I can say I have never had issues with the test strips. Occasionally, when the meter gets really hot, mostly when it sits in direct sunlight, it would make me wait to test. I worked for 17 of those years doing landscape construction with no access to fridge. I would leave my insulin pens in my lunch box, no ice pack and never had problems either.

Fast forward, my now 2.5yo daughter is T1D and is much more sensitive to insulin than I am. She is on a pump now but before then, we would keep a small cooler with an ice pack for her insulin and kept her BG meter and strips in there as well, mostly so we only had one bag to carry.

Bottom line, I have never had long term problems from heat with meter or strips.

i use a cooler and a reusable ice pack. just throw the ice pack in the freezer and you're good to go whenever you need it.

I feel like any good double walled waterbottle would do this well. I can leave a hydro flask in the sun for hours in my truck and ice might melt but the water inside stays cool. Get one with a mouth big enough to put the strips and insulin in and leave it under a seat if your worried about the direct sun. Could also leave ice in it the night before just to cool the whole thing down

My daughter takes medication that must stay refrigerated so it doesn’t go bad, so when we go out for the day, or she stays overnight somewhere without a fridge, we just use one of these cooler bags with some frozen gel packs and it’ll stay cold in the car even after a full day at Disneyland or the beach.

Wrap the items in cloth and put them in an air tight container (the less negative space the better), then put that container inside a rotomolded cooler layered with ice packs evenly distributed for desired coolness.
