    Hello All,

    New member, first post.
I recently upgraded my suspension for my 2019 4x4 Taco. I changed out my Bilstein 5100 to Bilstein 8112. I also removed the OEM leaf pack with 1 inch block, and installed an ICON RXT (option 2) leaf pack. Front height did not change, stayed at 2 inches above stock. However, with the new leaf pack, I gained additional 1.25 inches (total of 2.25 over stock). Now, I notice that I am rubbing when I turn at dips or go at an incline or decline. Whats weird, is that the rubbing appears to be isolated to the driver side, and it only hits the front fender well. I don't see that it is hitting the body mount. Only the driver fender well.
Guys have any recommendations? Maybe another alignment? Upper control arms?
I really want to hit the trails, but the rubbing has me worried.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    1. What’s your measurement from hub center to bottom of fender.

    2. It is usually the driver side that rubs worse due to the gas tank lean. After you take measurements you’ll see the driver side is probably close to 3/4” lower than passenger. You’ll need to crank up the driver coil over.

    3. What are your alignment numbers?

1). Driver side is about 22 inches, while the passenger is 22.25 inches.
2). Thats what I figured, but Bilstein doesn't recommend going above 2.0 inches in height for optimal performance.
3). See alignment sheet from the shop:

    Pictures of?

Photo one shows the minor rubbing I'm talking about, only on the front driver fender well. Photo three, there is no rubbing.

First figure out where you are rubbing. Use chalk or mud to get it all dirty then make it rub hard. The clean spots that are left are your rub locations. Depending on what is rubbing and how much you decide on the fix. There is a hard plastic lip and the bottom of the wheel well, cutting that off takes a Dremel and 2 minutes and may solve much of your problem. A heat gun and some reshaping may solve the rest. Also, your alignment may not be optimal for your lift and the reason you started rubbing.

Changing the height of the lift won't change your rub potential. As soon as you stuff a tire it goes right back up where it was. To fix a rub for offroading you need to move the wheel forward/backward or in/out in the wheel well or remove material. Your alignment could probably push the wheels further forward. "Increase the caster with the LCA cams and then align camber and toe" aiming for 3+ degrees is the usual good advice on alignments given here. Find a shop that specializes in lifted alignments. The average alignment tech is only going to cause you headaches.

I will be taking a Dremel to the inner fender well. The rubbing appears to be very minor, so I hope this helps.
Thanks for letting me know that a height increase won't help. I was thinking about adding a 1inch block to the front shocks.
If the cutting doesn't work, I'll be looking at an alignment adjustment.

    Thanks

Just hose out the mud and dirt after a wheeling trip. Doesn't need to be super clean as there are no corrosion concerns with plastic.
