When are you running the Rubicon?

 

We do fordyce Friday and plan is to be at the trail head Monday

 

Made it through fordyce yesterday. No real damage besides a rock hit the exhaust exit in the bed and tire caught the fender ripping the headlight out…

 

I'm not sure I realized how close to the headlights your axles actually were. Time to get the dove tail style front end and roundies, as ugly as they usually are.

 

I’m thinking a 70s hilux grill and some sheet metal work to match the hood body line

 

7 days later and we are done with fordyce and rubicon. No issues with either rig. Ended up leaving a day early due to smoke and the fire near the rubicon. I have a ton of pictures to post but just a few for now

Yeah they just closed el dorado forest till sept 30 it looks like. And now fordyce and everything else. We left the trail the day after they closed it and had no idea lol

Well got some tools I always wanted. Few deals popped up right near me over the last week and couldn’t pass them up. A new 12x36 lathe with a bunch of tooling and then a round column mill. Should be nice to learn on and better my fab skills

Picked up the mill. My engine lift that cost a case of beer has come in handy more times than not

And threw some paint on the stand.


Mill is 3 phase. Got the lathe running today but need to find a vfd to power the mill. Looking forward to using it all

 

Got the garage reorganized and mill up and running. Pretty happy with the new tools. Also cleaned up the Tacoma and started on a bumper. Not sure how I feel about it yet but I’ll get it all tacd together and pull it out into the sun to see if I like it.

Ends will get 45 at the start of the marker light and go from there.

 

Is that a VFD for your mill sitting on the table?
