I’m still waiting on the custom pulleys, should be within the next week or so according to Howe on Friday

What’s your setup now? Slide rack, tundra rack, stock, etc.

Before the Howe pump, steering was near impossible while locked up front. Now with the Howe pump it’s not. At a certain point in your turning radius the wheel will rip out of your hands if you’re going even 5mph.

Gotcha. Yeah like I said I’m probably a few paychecks away, but it’s on the very short list of things that need to happen ASAP.

No as in it will rip it out of your hands to full lock. Like right now.

It just caught me off guard the first time it happened. I run locked front and rear lots, was used to the old setup and didn’t expect that to happen. Just something you’ve gotta pay attention to a little bit.

All the more reason to never wrap your thumbs around the wheel unless you want a broken thumb. Something I try and teach everyone I wheel with

Got it, one thing to keep in mind is the pumps don’t start really making pressure until 900-1k rpm. Tacoma’s idle at about 550 so it’s important to keep the revs up while trying to turn with the front locked. Obviously this is easy to do in an automatic (assuming you always drive with two feet) but it’s a little more challenging in a manual. On my own truck I had the idle turned up to 950 which makes all the difference in the world

Yeah, I’m a 6speed so my rpms are usually up. If I’m locked in I’m typically in low range as well. Always try to stay around 1500-2k

Definitely something to take note of after getting the pump. Easy enough to turn the idle up in hp tuner if I feel the need to do so

Wonder how even just a tundra rack in place of taco rack without Howe pump feels, I’ll be sure to let y’all know next year once I button up those items
