I think you should do alot more research on the individual parts your looking at using. Look at the upsides and downsides to each one. Dont go by what 1 person says, get multiple opinions from people that actually use the parts. The solo kit sounds awesome, but for someone who is a weekend warrior, it may not be the best kit for you. ORIs have thier known issues and usually take alot of tuning to get to work well, i wouldnt stick them on the front of our trucks. And i looked into doing the rear with them, but the load capacities are relatively low, so if your loading up the bed they dont work well. If you want ground clearance look into portals or SAS.

Theres a ton of shops out there that will build you a badass truck, but it may not turn out how you wanted it. Theres always downsides to how you build something, a shop may focus on suspension travel, but dont think about the actual geometry that will work on trail, and youll end up rolling your viechle. Or they will focus on travel and geometry, but youll have a low belly and drag on everything.

Id suggest sitting down and making a list of what you want to do with your truck and yours goals associated, then build something around that. Your goals may change as you build it. If you want a rockcrawler, the body will limit you far before the suspension does. If you want an overlander, then you dont need more than 12-13 inches travel on IFS.

So before we recommend an off-road shop. What is your end goal for the truck? Rock crawler, pre-runner, overlander, prelander, prectawler, or mall crawler?

Very capable general off roader leaning towards rock crawler setup. Keep it light and simple. No camper shell or roof top tent, just my gear and some tools. Dont want fiberglass panels, keep it ifs and soa and increase ground clearance.

Jd fab or total chaos +2/2.25” kit up front. The jd fab 934 cv’s or RCV axles to match the front kit. And archive relocation with 2.5x12” triple bypass shocks in the rear.

after that add front, mid, and rear armor as necessary

That will run ya about $15k before armor. Add at least another $10k for the next step

I'm gonna go against the grain here a little bit and make an assumption at the same time. Based on your written knowledge (take this with a grain of salt), you should keep it very moderate right now. Buy some replacement coilovers, bolt on SOA rear leafs (i like Deaver), one of the rear shock hoop kits (Archive or Total chaos, I dont pay attention to these so I'm not sure), get a high clearance rear bumper and trim (alot) for some 35's or 37's and wheel the pants off your truck for a year or two.

That setup will wheel pretty darn well and even scoots a little bit at speed if you are just messing around. Then you can take your time and decide what you want to do from there.

If you want to jump in to it, its your money and you do you boo boo. But I think taking your time and running a mild setup will do very well for a while until you are so confident in the direction you want to take that you wont need to ask strangers on the internet which direction to go.

@mauctopa the offroad expo, sandsport supershow and offroad nights are all coming up soon and I'd go check out some rigs and talk to vendors and explore the parking lot to get some more insight and knowledge of what to look for to accomplish what you're trying to do

Good call-outs. That setup is pretty is the direction I am heading. Just need to install my +2 TC kit. I would have prob picked up the JD Fab but already had the TC kit. I Will get to RCV or 934's down the line have some TC ones I had already picked up. I would add a set of Deaver or Alcon springs to match (assuming they currently done have them).

I’ve been around the block a time or two with the Tacoma platform. 4-5 times on my own truck let alone a dozen or so others I’ve worked on lol. Tell me what you want the truck to do, and I’ll spend all your money for you haha.
