Hi Guys, hope everybody are ok.

I noted an issue today on my 2012 Tacoma, while stopped on a red light I felt the air not cold than when the truck is moving, checking on that, the Fan that colds pulls air into the engine is not working (the little one, not the main engine fan). This fan should spin when the AC is on.

I cleaned connectors from both sides (fan and wiring) and it still does not work when I turn my AC on. Wonder if there is any relay or fuse than might be gone, Or the fan should quit working?

My AC while I'm moving it colds with no issue, but when stopped it not that cold, but not hot.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks in advanced.

Search for Blower Motor and or Blower Motor resistor. There are like a million threads on the subject.

Here is the fuse and relay for the condenser fan. Upon a closer look, the AC fan fuse and relay are "Mexico" only. I don't know if that means the truck was built in Mexico or sold there.

I think the electric condenser fan is only on trucks originally sold in Mexico, I've never seen one on a US model.

I have the exact same issue in my V6 dbl cab 2007 TRD and have had the problem since it was new. My truck was built in Mexico and has no condenser fan. Low side pressure is fine. Interested to hear how this goes. So some Tacos had factory condenser fans? I was thinking on adding one to mine but feel like I’m putting a bandaid on the issue

You can always run wire from the battery to the fan directly to see if it will run. If not then you need to replace it

Thanks Sir, I remember I saw that fuse on the hood fuse box. Was not sure if that was the correct, I will double check if is properly. My Tacoma is MX so it got a condenser fan

It is a 4 pin connector on the fan, do you know which of this 4 can I wire directly to the battery to confirm if it is working. Thank you Sir.

My 13 model has done this since I got it, if it's real hot out. When I have this issue, I put her in neutral and rev the engine up to 1100-1200 rpms. It's an air flow problem, from what I've read it's very common.

If the diagram @HAVOC posted is correct pin 2 Blue/Red should be fan power and pin 1 White/Black should be ground.

Should just be a 2 pin connector.

Ohhh good to know .. In my case it is a 4 pin female connector on the fan side and 4 male on the wiring, But there is a connector just hanging next to that 4 pin male, So what I think now it must be a fan adapter from previous owner on a possible failure with the factory(I guess), I will get some pictures later today and post it here for better understand. Thank you people, I appreciate it

Hey Guys this is what I got. This is the fan installed on my truck, 4 pins connector, I assume it is not OEM Condenser fan.

This connector is the one is hanging next to the one is connected to that 4 pin

Weird looks like an OE connector, those pins look awfly corroded though your problem might be right there.

What color wires in the 2pin plug?

The 4-pin does not look like a factory connector, typically a denso/weatherpack style connector

    Thanks.

I’m having the same issue as the OP. My truck was built in Mexico. Wonder of it might be pre-wired?
