If there were trees down in central MA, i`m glad we left our camping spot early. We were around a lot of big trees.

Question for y’all, especially those with experience with POR-15 and WoolWax. My uncles 04 Tacoma has some issues where the gram has rotted through. His mechanic ended up welding some plates on the side that was completely shot, but the other side isn’t so bad. What’s the best way to go about it getting any worse?

should I just be scraping all the loose stuff off and adding woolwax, or should I apply POR15 first, let it dry, then add woolwax on top?

Found this rubber bushing on the driver's floor while doing my brakes this afternoon. Anyone know where it might have come from?

I’ve used POR-15 quite a few times on different vehicles. Prep is key. I’d use the metal prep zinc phosphate spray per the directions and then paint with POR-15. If there are any voids in the paint, moisture will get trapped behind it causing rust to grow. It’s a bear to get off if you have to remove it. When you buy the can, don’t open it. Turn it on it’s side and put in a small hole near the top so that you can use a sheet metal screw to seal the can. Put what you need in a container and seal the can with the screw. Opening the can guarantees it will harden even if you put plastic film over it. Then spray with your favorite rust inhibitor. I prefer Amsoil HD metal protect as it’s a waxy film but others work just as well. If you can, coat both sides of the area (inside of the frame if it applies). BTW - nothing removes POR-15 from skin other than time. Don’t ask…

Not the biggest fan of POR...
    I prefer rust bullet....
I use that, and go from there.
In fact, I will be doing some of that with my latest... project.

Prep is key. I would use a needle gun then a wire wheel or cup grinder, wire brush then clean it, let it dry use the por 15 then wool wax

I am with @Chasespeed on POR-15, me and father have used it on his older Tundra, and it did NOT work, even though we followed the directions to a t. We have had much better luck with cans of Rustoleum Rust Reformer, and either top coating it with some other spray paint (usually the Professional Rustoleum, in the tall silver cans), or what you plan on doing, WoolWax.

I'm a fan of rattle cans and rustoleum. Sand and wire brush as clean as possible, wipe down with degreasor or alcohol and go to town with paint. Let dry for a day or two then coat with woolwax

Providence - a lot of rain and medium branches. Nothing big, no power loss. I didn’t have my radio on today so not sure if the southern part of the state got it worse along the coast though.

work already sent out the mass text - we’re on for tomorrow

trash pickup got moved by a day though. Means mowing the law Wednesday so I can bag it and not have it sitting around for a few days. … means mowing on the hot day of the week :D that will be fun.

we had a couple trees come down on our property right off 140 on the Upton/Grafton line. FWIW we’re heavily wooded and they were very wet. One uprooted, another snapped off about halfway up. Wind didn’t seem like it was that bad but we were hearing crackling and creaking all day.

In eastern MA there wasn't a lot of damage. Central MA got more, but not really horrible from what I've seen. Henri over promised, but under delivered.

That's what the news outlets do. We get our share of storms that actually do damage houses and roads, but the news generally blow it out of proportion. They find a really windy area on the coast or the area with the worst drainage to film so yeah, it sucks for the people in that exact spot, but it's generally not nearly as bad as they make it out to be.

I had everything charged up ready to go, had a bunch of ice in the freezer ready to get the coolers going if needed to preserve it all. Now I have a bunch of ice. No idea what to do with it.

That's a lie. Frozen rum runners.

Yeah he already hit the nail here ^^^ sensationalized.
