Yes the Lomax tonneau rail clamps connect on the rail but block only the small portion where the tonneau rail clamps are. you can put your normal rail clamps on where you want first, or you can loosen the clamp screw totally and rotate it into the rail later.

I cannot speak for other companies or other brands, but I do know we have had great luck with almost every single one of our covers on the 2nd Gen long beds
What you will notice, and I just did it with several brands such as BAK, Undercover, Gator, Truxedo, Extang, Retrax, and Pace Edwards is that it doesn't mention the Deck Rail system. On the 2nd Gens, we utilize the Deck Rail system for the covers unlike on the 3rd Gens majority of our covers come with hardware to actually drop the Deck Rail system so it doesn't have to have parts installed on it for the covers to be installed properly. I am sure other manufacturers and companies have this same option but I cannot speak on them because we are not them or do not carry their products.

I hope this was able to offer some insight, if there is anything further or I didn't properly answer the question please feel free to ask further or PM

Also regarding vinyl products, or really any cover that doesn't have UV resistance to it like the MX4 I always recommend using 303 protectant, we don't carry it but can be found at almost any auto shop such as Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc. This is a great product that helps protect against the AZ sun!

I just purchased a TruXedo cover from your company a couple weeks ago for my 150. What do you recommend to clean the cover with? It’s a soft roll up cover. I will start using the 303 product on it since I live in New Mexico. How often should I use this to protect the cover?

On the 303 product, they should have a recommendation on how often you reapply it, I do see they also have a mold and mildew cleaner (according to Amazon) that works on vinyl applications. With recommending them for the UV protectant I would imagine going with the same product for cleaning would be the best. We also do have tonneau-specific cleaners on our site as well.

I suggest a Truxedo Pro X15. Mine fits like a glove, zero leakage of water, tight, flat fit and minimal dust.

Hi. My 2013 Tacoma Sport Double Cab short bed was recently broken in to and I'm trying to weigh my options for improved security. Disappointed I never realized that if you break a window and unlock a door on my tacoma that the alarm won't go off. Seems silly. Anyway, I currently have a soft trifold tonneau and a poplock system on the gate. I'd like to find a hard top tonneau that would also secure to my tailgate so if someone broke a window, they can't just hit the unlock button and open the gate. I realize that this means that I too would not be able to open the gate unless I open the tonneau, but I don't see what other choice I have. I often have expensive hunting gear in the truck. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry for the delayed response on this, personally I would go with BAK or Undercover as those are the most popular hard folding brands we sell, specifically the MX4 or the Armor Flex

I am looking for a roll cover that will work with the rail system in place, Easy to install, is low profile and can be easily removed/installed again for the summer/winter months.. Under $500 Any suggestions?

I like the information provided. I am getting a double cab with a 6'2" bed. when I look at my options I don't see many. I don't want to drill, would like it easily removable. and would like to be able to use tie downs still. I wont have stuff inside often and It will be garaged. any body know other options I could look into? if you have a cover and don't like would also like to know. thanks

I just installed the Truxedo Truxport TRX-257001 on the 6'2 bed. It was easy to install, Retained the most bed area for cargo, Looks good, Made in South Dakota, Under $300. It sticks up over the bed rail about 1". Will roll up when not in use and I can still use the Toyota rail handle system. I am very happy with it. There is a you-tube vid on a 3-gen. Tacoma install.

O Riley Auto parts, Ordered it and then picked it up a few days later. Got 10% vet. discount- came to $288 with the tax. I went that route rather than online so if it did not fit/work I could easily return it.

Was easy to in stall. I also recieved my new toyota bed mat and chrome exhaust tip. The bed mat was $92.out of a dealer in MO. I got the chrome tip because my buddy had paint get messed up on his Tunder where the exhaust pipe comes out. This tip comes out a few more inches.
