    2021 Stumpjumper comp carbon. Pretty difficult getting one this spring with everything going on in the bike world, had to drive 7 hours each way. Really wanted the expert build but there was literally none to be found back then. Overall super happy with it.

    Got about 1.2K on them at the moment, with Hydras. Still on original build, had to true them up once. They've taken a real beating. They seem to work best with stiffer sidewall tires, like EXO+ or DD. I will say that there are times that I do feel a little bit of flex. Really high speed, high G situations they can feel a little like tire roll. But if I'm riding a lot of that I up the tire pressure and it's gone. Problem is there are some trails/rides that have a mix of loose and fast/high G so you just have to expect that. It's not bad, or scary at all.

    What did you do?

    Went on one of my favorite rides yesterday, 24 miles, 4K. After all the rain every trail was soooo good. 2 separate moose sightings on the trail, one refused to get off since she was guarding her calf (you can see the calf laying down). Wildflowers popping, temps in the 60s, no one on the trail. Epic day.

    God damn yall hahah thx for the glasses recommendations. I may splurge on something soon once my current pair gets scratched up.

    ~~~~
    Vittoria tire gripe incoming!!!! My Martello trail rear tire is continuously getting pin holes in it right where the knobs meet the base. 3 separate holes yesterday and today. Stans sealant hasn't been doing a good job of sealing it up... I think I need the enduro casing Martello and maybe thicker sealant.
    How many miles on it? I have a Mazza (front) and Martello (rear) both 29x2.6 with 550 miles so far and they’re holding up so well. I rode my buddy’s bike with a Maxxis Dissector in the rear with maybe 300 miles and was afraid for my life. No grip and the side knobs were almost gone. We ride the same stuff which is odd
    Around 350 miles. I'm running the same setup, Mazza 2.4 and martello 2.35 both in trail casing. Super happy with the performance but I think I'm a little too harsh on the rear tire and need the burlier enduro casing.
    Tire pressure has a LOT to do with tire life too. Lower pressures mean more grip but in my experience it chews up rubber
    For sure... I might have to add a few psi. I'm 170-180lbs running at 24f 26r with no inserts. I was running airliner inserts for a couple months and going 20f 22r.
    Sure am glad I picked up that SLX derailleur from REI a couple months ago hahah. Don't even know what happened but she was properly busted.
    The bike bug bit me bad yesterday. Went riding with some friends on my 2008 hard tail 26” Diamondback….and quickly found that I brought a knife to a gun fight, which I kind of knew was going to happen. But, I had blast, rode 25 miles with 2400 elevation and now I’m searing for a bike. Seems to be a few options available locally, just have to figure out what truly Mama Bear is gonna let me spend. I’d love to get a carbon frame but….I don’t think I can swing that. One LBS has a two Stumpjumpers, the base and a comp. headed to another lbs to see what they have in Ibis and Intense bikes. I’d love to add a Salsa to the stable, but not sure if I want the Blackthorn. Have to see what I is available.
    But, all this, and I’m gonna jump in and sign up for either a 6 or 12 hour race Sept. 18….haha. Good thing my stamina is there from the road riding!
    I broke my right collarbone for the third time. I wish I could say I was sending hard every time but they've all been mistakes on normal, low-key rides. I think I need to bulk up.
    Anyone ever put any sort of rear fender on a carbon Stumpjumper? Yeah I know. Getting ready for wet season.
    Not a stumpjumper but I put a sp mounted Blackburn on my Titus Motolite and filled in between the seat stays and chain stays with a strip from a plastic planter to protect the fd, bb, and Horst link.
    A good frame is obviously a must but the choice of components makes it yours.
    I’m still highly skeptical of this business transaction. Intense did just let pinkbike publish an early look at a new Tracer mullet. I’m impressed with the rear fender.
    Epic classic mountain bike ride. Wish they were all like that with wildlife, good temps, and big miles
    Yep - that’s where I’m at. I’d like carbon over alum, as my road and gravel are both carbon. Components, I know these have gotten much better over the years, but from my reading, the front/rear shock are where a step or two above entry is good idea.
    I really liked the Devinci Troy (alum frame - didn’t necessarily like the external cable routing, which….is nit picking a bit but for a bike at a $3k price point, cables should be internal) and Django (loved everything about it) that I checked out yesterday. I tried a few other styles, Enduro bikes, and didn’t care for the front wheel response, felt clunky to me coming from a road bike.
    I’m going to check out a StumpJumper tomorrow, there is a base level and a Comp. I guess no downsides to this bike, brand is known, and it’s a good LBS that sells them that I’ve purchased a few bikes from in the past. The base, I don’t know about the shock components, the Comp was built with Fox on both front/rear.
    Happy to hear any feedback you may have as well.
    Now it’s just a matter of finding out what Mama is going to let me spend.
