Shafts were replaced when I did the slide rack. Everything is OEM. Its either the pinion is chewed up or the slider for the bar is wiped out. One of the two is the issue just haven't dove in yet. That will come when and if I can come up with a good solution for boots.

And I'm not talking the slide rack being wiped out, I'm talking about the adjustment nut/slider for the actual rack.

Here’s how my rack is looking. Keep in mind, this was cleaned up a couple of weeks ago when I did the seals. But you can see spots coming back again. I’m not mad in the least, I counted it as an experiment when I got the slide rack. But if it’s rusting like this in the summer, it’s going to be ugly over the winter. Which is why I’m trying to find a solution.

The play in the wheel isn’t what I would call substantial. But it’s definitely there.

Harry- Of all the amazing fabwork showcased here, I'd love to see more on how you fit the UMP filter housing. Did you need to move the ABS actuator? If so, I'd love to see where and how you mounted it, along with anything else (SAI, A/C lines, etc etc.)

Saving my pennies for a JD 2+ LT kit but fitting an UMP is more in line with my current budget. Thank you!!

I'm not sure how JD is doing it, but I deleted my ABS pump entirely. Plumbed in a proportioning valve etc. Then I made a plate that bolts down where the ABS pump was and bolted the UMP to that.

Getting my feet wet with the spindle gussets. Just ordered a pair for my 4runner. Spindles overall look very similar other than ball joint tapers are different. probably should have inquired about fitment here first lol.

It may depend on year and model. My pump is on the firewall where you would find a normal booster. The right inner fender area is wide open. 2011 Off Road.

all OR after 2009 have the Hydroboost Mastercylinder. All Sports have the ABS over on the pass fender and any OR before 09 that doesnt have atrac/vsc also.

this is assuming you have 4wd

@81Trekker can confirm but if my memory is correct the filter canister is mounted toward the front corner which does not impact any of the ABS components but required the washer reservoir to be eliminated and Harry replaced / relocated it with an aftermarket smaller reservoir so @kasnerd could still see the chicks at the mall clearly through his windshield if it got dirty on the way to the mall

He has the hydro boost where the abs is on the driver side. The other models have the abs pump on the passenger side. Secondary air injection was relocated as well on @kasnerd truck.

I asked Harry about this too, he mentioned using a shorter UMP could help clear the abs pumps.

The air pump has to be relocated on certain models as well as trucks with ABS. Depending on the filter location the intake tube has to have a jog in it and a custom machined MAF bung needs to be made. There are so many variables that I can’t give a generic formula for the install

I have a 2012 OR that has the ABS module on the passenger side and no hydro boost MC. So your statement is incorrect. But I’m sure it’s because im 2WD.

Just delete everything on the passenger fender lol. ABS sucks once you run bigger tires anyways, air pump can be deleted with a tune. Here’s how mine is setup. I did the 4” inlet 3” outlet. You’ll need 24” of 3” tube a 3” 90 and a 3” straight. Torque solutions makes the MAF bung and the rest is pretty self explanatory. Just make sure if you delete ABS you add a prop valve.

For some reason that option package with the upgraded bluetooth axles didn't include that huh ? I will never understand how those factory packages work ?

The SAI already fell off my truck somehow but I've got the ABS actuator over on the passenger inner fender and don't really want to mess with it yet if I don't have to. I like the idea of moving the washer resi and will likely go with the Howe pump at some point in the future so will be moving/changing all the PS steering stuff in the future anyway.

Looking for any more close up pics like 906taco posted (thanks!) or any links to UMP/Tacoma specific installs would be helpful. Google/TW searches aren't turning up much. Thanks all!

You have anymore detailed pics of the abs delete? Mostly the routing from the MC to the proportioning valve. Also did you have any issues with disconnecting the plug from the abs module?? Just wondering if it puts you in limp mode disconnected or just the normal Xmas tree of dash lights.

Where does the big shiny coffee can get fresh air from? I put a cheap AF snorkel on my 2.7, because 35s and Kentucky clay mud, so wondering if that would plumb into the snorkel. Or am I left with holes in the fender and a worthless $180 piece of plastic?

You can rotate the UMP to whichever position, but its off center and would be higher than the stock hole in the inner fender. but with a bit of plumbing you could probably 45* it off the UMP and right into your stock location for the snorkel.
