I dont have deavers and hangers yet. Thats the main difference. I only have plus two in the front because I ordered them as a set from toytec before I knew what crown was. I need to order crown rears. Also, word of advice. Install the hangers before you do the shock relocate. The compression I think would be different on the bump stop, thus making the location of the weld for the bottom of the shock a little different...

Or I could be completely wrong, and nothing will change. Wouldnt be the first time i over thought something.

maybe @EatSleepTacos can chime in here, but I dont think that would matter. Although, I did have my hangers installed before the shock relocate..

I would do hangers at the same time of the relocation, or beforehand, for the reasons nick mentioned.

even though they can rotate when flexing? I was kinda thinking about it just now, but have a bunch of other things on my mind (because ADD..)

but I wouldnt think the shock relocate would move that much. And you have the lower pivot bolt that rotates too, its not like a stock mount that "pivots" on a bushing

He’s talking about where the lower mount is clocked at on the axle. When you do a relocate, what angle you set the lower mount at dictates where your shock bottoms out. Changing the hangers may change where your leafs bottom out, and thus you should make sure your shock bottoms out at the same time.

How much of a change will there be when swapping hangers? Dunno. May be negligible and not anything to worry about. But may as well do it all together.

Dont be like me and use dakars for your limiting straps @Mojo Jojo. I still have shit loads of flex, but I also think flex envy is a real thing. Ive noticed a bandaid to rear flex, is a high clearance rear bumper. Looks better.

What's wrong with the leaf pack being the limit strap?

I think my fuel tank might be a bit borked. needle was literally on/below E and it only took 16 gallons to full on a 23 gallon tank. Stock height was not nice to the tank and skid

doesn't look hella dented though. noticed the discrepancy kinda after the flagpole trip and I did drag it once there, but not as bad as it has been before the suspension

went and got the spindles today. Was fully expecting (and kinda hoping) I'd have to pull myself, but they were already on the shelf. From an 07 FJ for my 4runner. completely forgot about the other things I was wanting to get because these came with some unexpected goodies. mirrors were really just for the thrill of the junkyard experience since there are cheap ones online, but one more OEM CV axle would be nice so I have a complete pair of replacement axles

For $200 out the door I got
    • 2 spindles with zero rust
    • 2 wheel bearings (which I'd just keep as oh shit spares, but they are in good condition)
    • 2 dust shields in mint condition (not sure if 319 or 338mm shields, but 338 would be cool if I ever upgraded to the larger size)
    • 2 wheel speed sensors and wiring harnesses
    • All the brake line brackets with no rust
    • 2 halves of a sway bar link lol

Dang! That's a freaking steal! Are you gonna see if the JD Fab gusset will fit on there or go with the guaranteed fit of the TC?

I heard from another guy that the JD fab stuff will fit 4runners, and the taco vs 4runner spindles are really very similar in overall shape so I think they will too. I also like how they extend over the steering tab doodad. The jd fab gussets are less expensive by 80cents, so thats a win win right there

Then I was thinking about how you mentioned it was easier to drill before they're welded for the double shear kit too, but I don't think I'm quite to the double shear stage yet lol.

The JD kit is just easier in general to weld on too. As far as the heimed steering, I wouldn't do it without other steering upgrades. I didn't realize this at the time but heimed tie rod ends transfer a lot more energy into the rack and will put more stress on it. That's part of why I have this tundra rack ready to go in, I'm being preemptive since my stock rack probably won't last more than a year with this setup.
