From OV Tune to supercharger?

The Up / Down Grader is not active yet. It won't be live until the TCU Only files are released.

 

I followed Meso’s build pretty closely. He was pretty open that he was pushing the truck without a proper tune, so took some of that responsibility on himself.

Part of me thinks he was looking for an excuse for an engine swap. Lol.

 

Yes I know, but again even when it becomes available, I certainly won't be the first to try it lol!

 

I did try a month ago. In my garage though.

When I got errors, I asked the question.

I'm more interested if you can get near 400whp with a modified S/c setup on a full bolt on motor. Wonder if the trans/transfer case/diffs would go before the motor.

 

Which OV Tune were you using before making the move to Magnuson? How did the low end torque compare?

 

What in the world are you guys talking about? Up/down grader??

Being able to downgrade the ECU to an earlier revision - TSBs are update only from toyota.

 

Never mind.

The downgrader is only useful when shit goes bad.. like when you're voluntarily on an ECM version for which there is no OV tune pack support.

U can't modify the Magnuson tune. She locked.

 

Tell that to every major motor sports team in the world. 1.6L F1 engines cranking 1000hp

 

There is something to be said about simplicity and low cost. Bring on the 454 big block with a 4 barrel carb and a big ass cam. Pray she will start in -10F weather.

 

I have the Magnuson, LOVE it!!! Didn't have a tune, but definitely keeping track of the KDMaxx guys, I'm sure they'll have one eventually.

Went with a pulley size 2 sizes smaller than what comes from Magnuson, and full AFE exhaust.

Absolutely LOVE it, it's so much more fun to drive, only have about 1,200 miles since the install, definitely took time for the computer to learn, but for me we'll worth it.

My daily driver, and just made a 550 mile trip to NC. Unfortunately I still can't keep my foot out of it.

 

It was a @PapaRee tune based on the still current 2.0 tune. Low end on the tune was fine - but still nothing compared to the SC stock or with S mode or ECT on. If you are not running @PaparRee tune you should. I'm hoping he will come out with a SC tune SOOOOON. Big shout out to Kreg!

I do have a guy now in Shreveport with a Dyno. He has 20 years of tuning experience and knows how to tune a FI vehicle. If you know someone with a Supercharged Tacoma that wants to go to Shreveport for the day, let me know. My guy just got the VFtuner software and tuned a local N/A Tacoma for me last weekend. So he is getting his feet wet with Vftuner and learning how it works. He is used to the other tuning platforms for LS engines and others.
I am getting the Twin Turbo Tundra as soon as it is available. My dealership says that I am first on the list for a Black Pro. I plan on going to Shreveport with it as soon as it is supported in VFtuner.
