    I like the dealer swap concept. Even if you don’t get full value verses selling private party, you will undoubtedly save time and hassle not having to deal with the Craigslist crazies…

    In a perfect world, I'm on dirt roads (sometimes covered in snow) every weekend. Realistically, freeway 75-85% of the time. Fuel economy I guess is important, though I've been driving an FJ with oversized tired, fueling it up with premium, for the past 5 years. Also, I'll be deaf from my music well before I'll be bothered by road noise.

    Some sage advice right there. I believe the wildpeaks will be OEM for the '22, and don't look too shabby. As someone who doesn't spend too much time in this world, the nittos and KO2s have a great reputation, considering I know about them. I've heard weight is something to be considered, which I should research more before pulling the trigger. (if you want to enable my laziness/desire to avoid the search function, feel free to education me!)

    You're all good! Yah man, coming from WA, then living in CA before moving to OR, it was an odd transition. Some folks appreciate the jobs it provides; likely the same folks who like to avoid the elements as much as possible. Some locals legit do not know how to pump their own gas.

    •Have the dealer mount them
    •Take the factory rubber home
    •Find a set of cheap rims in the for sale
    •Stack your spares up in the grudge

    …burn ‘em up when the weather’s nice, have them in case you ding a wheel, throw in an extra spare to go wheeling, etc.

    As to size LT265/75R16. Thats one size up, no issues for fitment, and speedo will actually be more accurate. LT for the durability, and often has a deeper tread for long wear. Just remember to rotate tires every 2nd oil change. That size is common, so if you end up with a torn sidewall somewhere easy to get replacement. Have them swap the spare as well to keep the same size so 4x4 works well with spare. If you air down for offroad the taller sidewall with the change in aspect from 70 to 75 series will give you more flex, and larger footprint.

    I'd keep the stock tires and avoid the possibility of the dealer scuffing the new wheels. Otherwise, if you want the road manners of the goodyears with a bit more off road capability I'd suggest the Toyo AT3 in the stock size.

    Do you know what tires will be on your truck when you get it? If they are the Wildpeaks, then I would stay there and run them until they need to be replaced.

    I think my truck came with the Goodyear Wranglers (not the high end tire). It may be unpopular to say but I actually liked those tires. They were great on the road. I probably didn't need to upgrade but I did want something a bit more off road capable so I quickly upgraded to the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Did I need to do that right away? Probably not. But I did have a buyer lined up for the standard tires making it easy and I figured why not do it right away and get the tires that I want.

    I do understand a lot of people are concerned about weight -- and that makes a lot of sense. I personally don't really care. I didn't upgrade to a larger tire. I just put the same size tire on the truck in the Ridge Grapplers so it was pretty easy and really didn't impact weight. The reason is that I would say 75% of my driving is on the road but that 25% is either light to medium off road or in heavy snow. To me the Ridge Grapplers were the perfect blend of three factors -- look (I admit I wanted a more aggressive looking tire), on road and light to medium off road.

    Given the driving profile you suggested, I am not sure you are going up in tire sized nor are you doing extreme off roading so, to be frank, I wouldn't worry about weight. But, again, that is just me.

    All that said, if you are just upgrading your tires and not increasing the size, you really can't go wrong with any of the tires that have been suggested in this discussion. So pick the one you like that looks best ... since there are really no bad tires in that lot.

    I have heard you can stuff a 285/75r16 on the Pro without any modifications to the suspension.

    I ended up going with the falken at3w 265/75/16 - sold the OEM tires to the tire shop (didn't end up going with Toyota), making the new tires a total of $605.00.
