Leveling to stop rubbing

2006 TRD Off Road with 45K

A few months ago I got new wheels and tires. Went with Revos 265/75/16. They were only available locally in a 10ply E rated tire. I'm convinced that the 10ply tire has a slightly larger diameter though I've not been able to find that documented for sure. I've been happy overall - but despite some trimming I still rub a bit. From what I've read most people report no rubbing with this tire size.

I'm thinking of putting Bilstein 5100s on the front to raise it a bit. My suspension is stock front and back - never did the rear leaf TSB. I definitely don't want to raise the front above the back so I'm thinking of setting the 5100s at .85. I don't think I need much to stop the rubbing.

But I can't tell for sure. I want to lift enough to stop the rubbing. I want a slight rake to level ride.

Your idea sounds like it will work just fine for what you want. Wheels with 4.5" backspacing will help too if you dont have those already.

 

Measure you fender heights and see if you'll sit level if you add .85". You can also get the TSB or an AAL and set the bilsteins at 1.75 or 2.5.. or still at .85.

yeah, with the tape measure going next to the center wheel cap basically

 

Looks like the IS are 4.5".

 

Left Front, 34 3/4, Left Rear 36 3/4
Right Front 35 1/4, Right Rear 37 1/4

Looks like 1.75 might be fine. Shouldn't be nose high.
