That sounds OK man - no "rush". I didn't want to tie you up around the holiday anyway. Let's firm up a good day for you next week - I have nothing required then either.

    Allow me to translate.....

:annoyed:Spent the morning re-reading all the instructions and checking my measurement math. Got on the phone with the actual manufacturer experts, then their hot line. Should it not be hard and dry? YES. Is the correct mix proportion 3/1 epoxy/resin? YES. I mixed the raw epoxy with drill paddle mixer in the can for 5 minutes - until there was consistent color - no streaks. Then, mixed the mixture in a clean pail for 5 minutes - until the same consistency. Correct? YES.

:redxfall:Explain to the experts that after 68/72 hours, it's tacky. Not come of on my fingers, but tacky. SHOULD BE HARD. Yes, but it's not. EITHER WASN'T MIXED CORRECTLY OR LONG ENOUGH. Was what I described above correct? YES. BUT THE RESULT IS NOT.
Can I cover it with a new batch of epoxy primer - I have more? NO.
Can I put a second coat on - I have more? NO.
    What can I do?
 USE SOLVENT, DRAIN THE POOL, AND WIPE IT OFF WITH RAGS.
:frusty: Well, that ain't gonna happen this time. I gave myself two options - 1. I'm gonna coat that tacky shit with clear, gloss laquer in a can. Dries fast and hard. If it is smooth and touchable when done, and doesn't cause the epoxy to run. I will go with it. I tried a sample area, it worked, got more, and put on 2 coats.
And/Or 2. I will mix up a second coat. I'm holding that in reserve. If, the masking pulls off my new coat, I can touch up that.
:rant::rant::rant: so, tomorrow, I will be masking and putting a prime on the coping. Thursday, when I get home from Austin, I will paint the coping. Friday that mask will come off, and we will see. The :rant: is the sound I've made all day. Got stung by a wasp too.
    will it work?
