I could probably handle that then. It took a few trips to various stores to nail down my snork install, definitely wasn't intended for a 2nd gen tacoma lol

I just routed my intake into the Cowl right next to the cabin intake. :notsure:

Because I have no fender liner, and I live in an area with rain and mud. The stock intake "horn" that protrudes through the fender is like a damn catchers mitt for anything coming off the passenger tire, ready to scoop right into the air box.

    That's why.

Trust me, I'd happily get rid of it, but I watched a "cowl intake mod" suck water and lock up a v6 Tacoma. Fuck the 'gram overlanders.

@beertimecontinuum sure as shit has. Mind you, we do tend to swamp big water holes from time to time. But mud, eff that evil bearing-killing junk!

Yeah I’ve seen that video too, assuming we’re talking about the same thing. Dude was romping through water/mud holes going like 20 mph. Don't remember who it was but I’m not surprised it happened.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
such an easy fix, quit using the stock location. Either do the hood cowl mod or get a different intake completely, like the ump or a dorkle.

Stupid people do stupid things, like putting their truck too deep into the shit.

Works well for me too, but I also don’t treat my truck like a submarine.

Meh. West coast doesn't understand. Sometimes, there's truly no other option.

Who the hell backs up to avoid something?!

Yeah I only do light river crossings up to the bottom of the cab at most, for me, the cowl intake was for last resort type situations where I might have to ford up to the hood line to get out, like if a freak flash flood happened. I stay out of mud if I can, I'm more for technical rock crawling. If I wanted to go YEE YEE in the mud, I'd be wearing a cowboy hat, chewing tobacco and driving a rusted out silverado.

Oh I do mind. I avoid Alabama mud every chance I can. It’s permanent.

My cats are caked with red clay. Itll never come out. I've cleaned my truck about as good as you could ever clean it and i can never get rid of all of the mud completely.
