Picking up a M18 Fuel Hackzall soon. I have an upcoming job where I need to replace deck stair treads & risers. It's currently a combination of nails & screws.

No way you could use all those batteries. I will take a couple off your hands so you have more storage space.

Hey guys, does anyone have experience with pin detents on Milwaukee impacts? Specifically looking into the compact 1/2" 2855P-20. I really hate the typical steel friction rings on most impacts. PIA to get sockets on, and end up deforming the sockets over time. Reading into it though seems a lot of people have major issues getting sockets off the pins. So bad they need a small pick or nail to depress the pin before they can take the socket off. That would be even worse IMO. Looking at some close up pictures, the pin seems to have a pretty steep shoulder to it which is probably where it binds. Maybe they wear in over time?

I find the Milwaukee hog-ring anvils work VERY well. My M12 'Stubby' impact has a pin/ball detent, and I've had no issues with it either, but I know there have been a lot of reports of problems. My preference is for the hog-ring.

I have the 1/2 Mid-Torque. The pin detent is VERY stiff.
I usually have to pry the socket off, or use a socket with a hole in it where the detent pin is.
Then use a small pick to press the detent in to release the socket. It’s a love hate/relationship.
The sockets has NEVER flew off, but changing sockets can be difficult.

I also have the 1/2 High Torque, but have never used it yet.
    It has the Hog-Ring.

I've got the high torque 1/2 inch with the hog ring. Only sockets I've had fall off were 1 1/2 in or bigger and that was still with me dangling it socket pointed down for a bit. Co-worker has the pin detent and he swears more at that than he does when he smashes his knuckles. Most of my sockets go on just fine and come off just fine with the ring, YMMV though.

I have the 1/2 mid torque........I have a small punch i carry when i'm using it, impossible to get the sockets off without it. I absolutely want to murder people when i'm using multiple sizes. with that said, they don't ever fall off. hoped it would wear in over time, it hasn't yet.
