For your second controller for the small light. Is the light setup to be used with both? I have a second controller but only had power for one setup. If it's separate did you get 2 power setup or just one?

Just checking, are you saying your 80/20 cabinets are attached only to the bed rails and not to the floor? I was thinking of doing the same but attaching them to the rivets in the SP.

    Just the basics
    Really nice color combo.
Kind of a bummer they don't know how to properly fly the colors though.

I think I only got one cigarette lighter plug in even with ordering the second dimmer. At least, I can't find a second one in the garage. It looks like I attached the small light in series with the other two using a splitter. The small light has its own dimmer, while the two main lights run off the other dimmer.

Yup just to the bed rails. If the cabinet was shorter than full length you might want to attach to the floor somehow, but the way mine is sized it really has nowhere to go.

Any Colorado people want a set of GZilla awning poles/mounts? I bought an extra set with the intention of using it for the side doors but once I installed my awning it didn't work.

    $80, you save on shipping

Does anyone have reception problems with their satellite radio by having the shark fin covered by the SP? I’m thinking of relocating with a magnetic antenna to the hood prior to installation. I don’t want to if I don’t have to but I don’t want to drive back with spotty XM reception. Thanks

Ok was curious. I bought 2 controllers as well and don’t recall a splitter unless I misplaced it which is very possible. I was initially thinking of running a second one on the other side or up in the tent but haven’t installed it.

I would recommend at least for the 2nd and 3rd gen guys to only attach there. my X1 has shifted after spirited driving and that would do a number if attached to the X1.

I didn't notice much change in reception when the SP was installed. I don't normally use XM a lot though.

Where I did see a big impact was when I installed solar/electrical system. I've been getting interference that has really impacted radio reception....often radio stations that used to come in clear won't come in at all anymore except when I'm close to their broadcast tower. Away from that, they fade quickly.

XM isn't as bad but can still become unlistenable. Especially in urban areas reception is repeatedly interrupted for a second, or many seconds. In between the interruptions reception is clear. So I think this may be the overhang of the SP blocking view of satellites more than electrical interference, and I can see that being worse in urban areas. Driving back through WY, UT and NV recently with open landscapes and often long straight roads reception wasn't interrupted nearly as often. If issues were caused by electrical interference the signal would be degraded all the time.

I need to investigate the cause of all this a bit more. My system is charged by both solar and the alternator (Renogy charge controller). I've read some consider Renogy to be a cheaper brand that may cause interference but I'm having trouble getting answers on exactly what causes it or how to address it. The alternator can input up to 25A while the solar up to 10A, so presumably more interference would be caused when the alternator is charging. I've tried unplugging one or the other and reception improves, but often my system is fully charged so hard to say if lack of interference is just from lack of charging activity.

A few things I plan to try:
    - install switches to allow for quick disconnect of solar and alternator power in
    - re-locate system ground wire - right now it goes to the truck frame but I've been told radio and other accessories also ground to frame, so that could be causing issues
    - try to relocate XM receiver to a different location and see if that helps (not sure about radio antenna?)

For now I mostly use phone apps via bluetooth - works great when there is cell reception and then switch to personal music library or try XM when no reception.

    XM receiver - https://www.amazon.com/SiriusXM-NGVA3-Magnetic-Antenna-Vehicle/dp/B01HRCTD0G
    Adaptor - https://www.amazon.com/Bingfu-Vehicle-Satellite-Compatible-Receiver/dp/B07PJVFCYK

Anyone else with solar setups having issues?

I just ordered the CVT 55" awning and mesh room. I'll post pics when I have it installed. As to the width, I think there will be some overhang on the sides when it's in its case, but since plenty of guys have awnings riding on the sides and hanging out in the wind I figure it won't be any more of a problem than that. We'll see. Also, thought 48" was just too narrow to be practical.

EDIT: Also, I'm not trying to fit it between the handles. The brackets sold by SP will hold the awning out and up in a way that bypasses the handles. Pics coming.

ANOTHER EDIT: Pics below are of SP brackets installed on rear. The brackets clear the side clamps, but one issue is that the pull down handle sticks out farther than the brackets. It’s hard to see in the photo but it sticks out about 3/4 in. This may not be a problem depending on how the awning connects to the brackets, if there's some wiggle room at that point. If it's a problem then I’ve been thinking about replacing the handle with some sort of pull down strap, so maybe it’s time.

2nd gens weren't "Cement Gray". This is Silver Streak Mica (1E7) [2005-2013].

The 2014-2015 Tacoma was Silver Sky Metallic (1D6) [2014-2015].

Could you simply move the handle to the side?
