You all are killing me with how good your trucks look. I am lucky if I motivate enough to pull into a self serve spray car wash bay with a bag of quarters once every 6 months.

I might get some motivation though. There is something erotic-like about the thought of rubbing my truck down with a clay bar. Just need some cooler weather!

so I see a few of us at least, are facing this issue with the post wash spotting... I was hoping to find some means of cutting through the spots. I can't clear them. Wash and microfiber dry IMMEDIATELY... to no avail. I do have a clay bar which i normally reserve for removing light trail pin striping, but per @HiBillyMaysHere, I will give the clay bar a shot. Kinda nuts that what appears to be water spots needs clay bar.

What kind of buffer do you use? Do you HAVE to have a garage to do it correctly? How long does it take to buff the entire vehicle with that Grotts correction cream?

It seems to me that the issue is with the water - not the paint. Hard water will cause spotting like that. Is there any way you can rinse with filtered water? Our house is fed by a well and the water runs through a water softener to reduce the hardness. Another suggestion would be to wash the truck in the shade to prevent fast drying of the water before you can remove it.

Let me give a plug to ceramic coating. I've noticed with my coating that it doesnt stop the spotting, but they come right off when you wash. It doesn't "embed" in the paint. Very please with that since our AG really shows the water spots. the COL is right, its more of the type of water. Hard water will leave those marks.

It’s a griots 2 inch buffer. It will fit a 3 inch also. But I prefer to keep the 2 inch on it’s much better around tight areas. Unless I use both my buffers one with the 6 inch pad on for bigger areas. No you don’t need a garage but it’s like going to have someone do it. Professional all use a garage. I do sections at a time till the whole thing is done and then I use Griots ceramics spray and that wipes right off. Let it sit over 24 hrs in my garage and do it again. They have 3 different correction creams. I use the middle one. It works awesome on my AG pro. I no longer have it but I will be doing the same thing to my LunaRock tundra Pro soon. I did not rush thru it because I can leave my vehicle in my garage while I use my other car. But I can spend a day on it if I don’t stop. Hope this helps.

Also would like to say thanks. I will be purchasing in the near future. Question for ya, did you use the perfecting cream and then the Sealant or did you use just one? I found 4x different bottles of Griots and I’m wondering if ya just use one or if ya use a Polish then the sealant. Thanks!

The perfecting cream I use first to remove any flaws like your water spots or fine scratches. The green stuff in the bottle is the ceramic spray. That is like a detail spray but last a lot longer. It’s makes it much easier than doing a polish or a wax on top of the perfecting cream. Griots recommend to spray sections at a time and wipe off and then let it sit 24 hours and do it again. The protection from it seems to last pretty long. I was doing the correction cream which is the same stuff you are talking about then I would do a polish on top of it. But gave the ceramic spray a try and loved it. I got this from a detailed doing it on you tube. And it really makes your paint pop. Hope this helps.

Also just remember you cannot hurt your paint with these buffers. There orbital so you cannot burn it. Watch Griots videos on how they use them. I have never had a issue with them. I use to use a dewalt years ago now that one will burn your paint and rip moldings off. Lol. High speed action. But the orbital ones do a better job.

Right on, good tips. I’m due for a new buffer anyhow so I’ll grab the 2” one you’re talking about. From your previous post, one point of clarity I could use is, it sounds like you just use the perfecting cream and then afterwards use the ceramic spray detailer bottle. If that’s correct, what ceramic spray do you use? I’m sorry for not understanding immediately. Thanks again

EDIT: nevermind I re-read your post with my head removed from my ass and now understand haha. I guess my only question is which ceramic spray is in the green bottle (brand/type).

Griots only carry’s one ceramic spray. It green in the bottle. I’m probably buy the gallon of it next when I need more. No problem on the questions I try to help out where ever I can. All of the products are from Griots.

You probably could burn though or hurt the paint if you're not paying attention. Do watch the how-to videos first.

The problem with the Tacoma I'm finding is that if something's not perfect, someone makes something or has a suggestion to make it better. Just as is the case with the audio system. Today I upgraded the in dash tweeters with a plug and play set out of the Subaru parts catalog made by Kicker.

NPR sounds so much better! I highly recommend this mod for anyone that has the base audio.

Did you have JBL system or standard stock? How much difference did it make?

I do not have the JBL system. There's a remarkable but hard to quantify improvement on being able to understand spoken word without adding more volume at freeway speeds. Same podcast needed volume at 34 at 70mph which felt loud but necessary, now i can set the volume at 29-30 and I feel like I can hear the podcast better without feeling like it's turned up too loud.
